never really cared much for The Gathering but this is an example how a band should split, instead of the usual drama

Holy shit, that would be awesome. Sad she's leaving TG, tho.

The Gathering should just split up. I haven't liked their last couple albums anyway, but without Anneke what is the point of them continuing. They don't need to release "Almost a Dance Part II".

I liked Souvenirs a lot but everything sounded kind of stale and passionless (especially her voice) on Home :\

I'll remain hopeful and assume a new singer will give rejuvinate the band :p

Yes, I agree with the vast majority of people that found Home to be a big step down. I posted a review here months ago of it. I think the only person that disagreed and liked the album was Ken :P

Apparently Anneke has a new band but I don't know anything about it at all. I'm not especially excited about the Gathering without her, I'm not that into the stuff they made before she joined. I got the impression at first that if she did solo stuff it would be quite poppy and uninteresting, but after having heard some of the collaborations she's done recently I'm a bit more optimistic that she will offer something cool.

The Gathering should ditched their poppy side and go all out with Sigur Ros style atmospheric awesome stuff

well I was hoping they would do that with Anneke

but uhh...yeah.
