I shit you not. Aaron Turner from Isis has replaced Malefic in Twilight. That has to be the most bizarre replacement ever, seeing as Twilight is supposed to be some USBM supergroup. Couldn't they have picked whats-his-name from Crebain or somebody? Don't get me wrong, I like Isis, but I didn't have Aaron Turner down as a BM head.

Yeah that does seem like an odd combo. Will he be singing?

Aaron Turner not a BMhead? I suppose he signed Xasthur because he thought it was a pretty name?

Damn, forgot about Xasthur. He's still an odd choice though it would be interesting to see how his growls would fit in with the sound.

bizarre indeed... doesn't make much sense to me. Unless, of course, it has something to do with money

Well as Zad pointed out he signed Xasthur, so maybe Malefic recommended him as his replacement. Apparently the new album's out next month, so we'll all get to see how he fits in. But as long as Wrest is in the band they'll still have some credibility, for me at least.

i just read a piece of an interview with Aaron... he sais he got an invitation from "Blake [Judd, Nachtmystium frontman]" and jeff, Leviathan

btw.. seems rather weird that Xasthur signed with Hydra Head Records... that place is as un-black metallish/un-metallish as you could possibly get. That label looks rather hippy-ish to me.. at least when you look at it from a black metallish point of view

I do wonder what Wrest and Azentrius were thinking when they came up with the idea.

I think some black metal (I haven't heard Twilight but it applies to Leviathan) and post-rock/metal have a lot of similarities. They might just be on to something.

I think Leviathan occasionally sound like Isis playing black metal.

Working with Sunn O))) probably made him realise Black Metal and Post-Metal have a lot in common, as Jeff said. With all the Indie crowd liking Khanate etc, Bm's the next rational step!

Anyways, can you think of much else that'd piss people off?

Weird shit. I love ISIS but this disturbed me cuz the first album was a heap of great ideas unfinished, I was hoping the second would be more refined. I hope Aaron doesn't fuck it up.

I remember reading they send their recordings to each other and everyone does whatever he wants and sends it back.
