Ozzy's last studio album before Black Rain seems to be one of those albums that garnered a lot of positive press and fanfare upon release, but really didn't do very well once the initial hype over a new Ozzy album died down. So what's the overall consensus?

I'm afraid I have to reluctantly vote Miss. The only really memorable songs on the album are IMO Facing Hell and That I Never Had. On everything else, Ozzy sounds very tired and uninvolved. Especially his whiny performance in songs like Gets Me Through (how this song became such a big hit is beyond me). Zakk Wylde's riffs just aren't as energetic or as catchy as usual, and the whole album just reaks of a sad attempt at remaking No More Tears while introducing a few "modern touches" (ironically, the album still sounds ten years out of date).

Every Ozzy album past No Rest for the Wicked is a miss.

(I haven't heard Black Rain yet)

I think No More Tears is great. But the other two that came afterwards .... pffft.

No More Tears is actually my favorite Ozzy album. S.I.N. and Mr. Tinkertrain are right up there with Crazy Babies (from No Rest For The Wicked) as my three all-time favorite Ozzy songs.

Haven't really heard Ozzmosis.

Down to Earth is the greatest miss ever, considering what kind of classic Ozzy has had a hand in in the past.

Down To Earth is a MISS...strange anyways 'cause I really loved OZZMOSIS... Perry Mason is a monster of a song, and Zakk really ROCKED on this album. I'm loving it! heheh
