There are so damn many good Brazilian bands out there. I'm just going to list a few I have been listening to in the past few months.

Burning In Hell - A more aggressive Angra. The vocalist sounds like a harsher Edu and the solos shred more than Kiko on his thrashier days.
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =131021431

Tuatha de Danann – A Celtic/folk metal band that mixes Elvenking (harsh vocals and all) with Yes (yes, the progressive rock band). It mixes so well together and creates some really interesting music. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... D=27657542 (the songs on their myspace do not do this band justice, they are all form older albums…except for the video.)

Hibria – If you haven’t checked these guys out yet you need to punch yourself in the face… now. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=36408309

(Holy) Sagga – Angra inspired band (Matos era) focusing on more European sounding power metal. (I couldn’t find anything by these guys, if you come across something by them definitely check it out.)

Aquaria – Happy flower metal. Few people know this, but Bill from Cellador had a hand in this band when he lived in Brazil. Anyway, catchy stuff worth checking out. http://www.myspace.com/aquarialuxband

I know Clint will be posting on here by morning telling me about all the bands I missed. Three out of the five of these bands were either from his site, or a direct recommendation from him, so he knows his Brazilian metal.

If Krusader would ever release that debut; I would put them in with those bands as well.

Good call.

Great post.... and I can definitely add a few. :D

In the style of Angra, (Holy) Sagga and Aquaria:
Endless
Glory Opera
Symbols
Thespian
Wizards
Arwen
Steel Rage
Allegro

.... not all of these bands are as good as Angra/(Holy) Sagga/Aquaria, but Endless for sure is. Full review:

I also like Engrave. Full review:

I also like Liar Symphony. Full review:
http://www.angelfire.com/music5/metalcd ... EVIEW.html

Finally, Perpetual Dreams is good too. Full review:

Hope this helps...

I forgot about Wizards. Isn't Edu's brother in that band?

Find me a brazilian power metal band that combines that Sepultura thrash agressive style with some Angra style of power metal then I'm interested.

Heh, you pwned me this time. Weird brain fart on my behalf.

Metal Archives lists 4 bands called Mutilator. From Brazil, Sweden, France and Mexico, but not Chile. Maybe i was thinking of some other Chilean band with a similar name or something...

There is a Mexican Mutilator?, wow ive never heard them, i dont know that many Chilean bands so i suppouse it could be a Mutilator from chile, the only Chilean band that starts with an "M" that i can recall right now is Massakre.

Nice one!
Sounds an awful lot like Angra Holy Land era!

Why has no one mentioned Viper?? Both releases by this band are excellent. Andre Matos is one hell of a singer.
