Its a ballad but gives an insight to the new sound of the singer.

The new single will be released in a few weeks, and still no news about the new singer. How do they manange that, hasn't anybody seen them together yet?

Due to a leak of the new NIGHTWISH single, "Eva", via an as-yet-undisclosed source in the United Kingdom, Finnish symphonic metal band NIGHTWISH will begin selling the Internet-only single "Eva" and reveal the name of the new singer earlier than previously planned.

"Eva" will be released in Finland via NetAnttila on Friday, May 25. "Eva" will receive a Finnish radio premiere on Radio Rock and YleX Friday morning at 7:00 a.m.

The identity of the new NIGHTWISH singer will be revealed on Thursday, May 24 at 5:00 p.m. Finnish time. First the news will appear on www.nightwish.com and soon after Spinefarm Records will send a bulletin to all media.

Fuckin awesome.

I really like the sound of the new singer from that little clip. And I find she does indeed sound abit similar to Sharon, which is fine since I cant stand Within Temptation anymore anyways.

I'd have to say that I'm a bit pessimistic.

I mean, I loved the music and the subtle choirs in the background but I found myself wanting her to stop singing. I don't think her voice fit the music at all, it's too... sharp (if that makes sense). Perhaps her voice was just pushed too far forward in the production.

Well, we can't judge her based on 30 seconds of music. Also, it's a ballad which I don't think is the best type of song to introduce the new Nightwish. I mean, if you're trying to get someone into NW you're not gonna tell them to listen to one of their slower songs.

I like what I've heard so far.

As someone who really didn't like Once, I'm not expecting to care much for the new album. Although this clip is short and of a ballad (so I'm reserving pretty much all judgment), I have to admit that I do tend to slightly agree with what Theli said. I found myself wanting to hear it without her singing.

I can just see the 300 page threads by those emo crybabies over at the NW forum on how she doesn't sound like Tarja and how they miss Tarja so sooooooooooo much :rolleyes:

One of the reasons why I don't post over there anymore too many emo kiddies running around there.
