Check it out, the winner of Finland Idol. Good god I wish I lived there instead of having to listen to the shit this conteninent churns out.

The music is great. The bands and songs they cover are all fantastic compared to most we cover in the states, but lets get real and clean out our ears. He cannot sing. I could outsing him while eating. I love the song, but this guy just is not good enuff to be a finalist let alone a winner. Im not saying this becasue of the accent, he is just limited in range and cannot hit the notes.

Geeze, let him hit puberty before you criticize him like that.

Heh, one of the judges said that this dudes rendition of The Evil that Men Do was better than the original. Nigga please.

Sorry. I went back and listened to all of the performances and I have to give credit for his youth and esp enthusiasm and some stage presence for that age. The Evil that Men Do song was by far his best. The Sonata was border-line kareoke, but the Scorps still loving you was not passionate at all and lacking the emotion needed for such a ballad.
I was too quick to judge yes, but I still dont think this guys vox could stand with the contestants of most American Idol singers. Just becasue we love the music and styles does not mean we need to jump to insane conclusions that all American Idol singers are pop and suck. Many of those voices could easily be developed into various forms of rock or even heavier versions of music.

I have to admit if i heard any metal (esp power metal ) on American Idol i would come out of my seat with excitement, but its not happening anytime soon. Im sure our judges would not let them on and they would wind up on ROCKSTAR (NBC) with some lackluster songwriting band; where the style of the singing would never fit the band in the first place :(

But after hearing Bon Jovi week last week I thought our contestants did an excellent job even some of the R & B singers which is a genre I despise.

I did come into a liking to the guy (ARI) after reading more about him and seeing the various clips on youtube. I am glad that he won. We just need to remember it is the whole package idols must represent ( the look, voice, passion, energy, and charisma)

Hehe actually the dude singing there is 23, not a youth at all. And true he can't hit the high notes at all but he wasn't THAT terrible on some of the lower stuff.

I think metal and maninstream TV should be kept at least 500 yards away from each other, as metal will always end up being bastardized into some self-parody.

Agreed. I'd say his Evil That Men Do is worse than his full moon, except for the chorus. Glad that songs like these can get on the show, but I really don't like his voice.

No, the guy's not an excellent singer (probably not as good as the American Idol contestants) but the songs are 50X better...from what I've seen of American Idol, anyways.
