Itleakked!!! :D

I've listened to it twice so far and right now I'm torn because Kamelot still kick ass, but theres no long songs and a bunch of them feel too short.

Its no Black Halo, but its good. Its hard to top their past 3 releases though, we knew eventually there would come an album that didn't surpass those masterpieces.

Seems like they've gone back to a more Karmaish sound while experimenting a bit with more progressive elements to me. One of the songs in the middle of the album really threw me off with an industrial-style breakdown, which kinda tarnished what could have been a really good song. It's still growing on me though.

This albums definitely takes a few listens to get into, at the first spin I couldn't really discern the songs. It's rather different from The Black Halo in this respect.

The albums I end up liking the best are often the ones I didn't understand the first few times I listened to them, and perhaps Ghost Opera will be one of them. Pre-ordering now...

I like it. Its very strange in parts, and I really dislike one song (The Human Stain) while finding another one very annoying at parts (Anthem... I hate it so very much when singers breath into the mic, and here the breathing is completely exaggerated at points. In any case, the song is just boring). Standout tracks include Ghost Opera, Up Through the Ashes, Mourning Star and Edenecho. 84/100... so, weakest Kamelot since Siege Perilous, but still a very good effort.

Damn, that is my fav. song of the album. It have the best chorus and the industrial part (at least i think it's industrial) in the beginning really fits in. The first half of the album is better imo, since i can't stop listening the first 3 songs. The only song i dislike is Silence Of The Darkness - it sounds so typically power metal and it's the least impressive for me. I'm still hesitant about Blucher, the song is great but the spoken electronic part just before the chorus annoys me.

May I reccomend listening to this album in the dark, with absolutely no distractions. Its quite an experience, and is making me raise the album's score by about 3 points.

Pyroman: I'll say that The Human Stain has a good chorus, but I'm not a big fan of the whole industrial thing.

I don't listen to industrial either but i won't object if it's used in the right way with the right idea. I think it perfectly complements the song thus making it even better. What this album lacks are more standout tracks to raise it to the level of Epica and TBH imo.

An odd album, but basically the direction I expected after the The Black Halo - ie, basically no power metal. Still very good on the basis of my one listen so far. I'm not too kean on the industrial-sounding guitar that pops up in a few places, but it doesn't do any serious damage to the album. Kamelot fail to disappoint. :)

After listening to it for the last week, i agree with some of the early impressions, not as great at TBH, but still solid, really short songs, but they're still good due to the great voice of Khan and they're melodic approach, very short album this time around, but again is hard to dish out 4 masterpieces in a row, put this one somewhere between Karma and Epica, still great album, no disappointments really.

I have to say that no album so far in these genre's has blew me away yet, patiently awaiting the new Symphony X and Iced Earth :dio:

note: The new Threshold album was pretty badass though :dio:

Wow, somehow I managed to be able to see Kamelot in Tampere, it was a brilliant show! Man those guys are energetic, Roy has an amazing charisma and stage presence! I had been listening to Ghost Opera some time before the show and it sure is awesome. I couldn't really make an opinion on Morning Star or Human Stain from just one listen, I'll just wait for the CD to be released to form some opinions.
