I have been a fan for four years now, and I must say they have matured rather noticeably. MR has only reviewed two albums from them which is really a surprise to me. Any other fans out there who really like RC and Greek BM in general?

I only just got into them after hearing Theogonia, so I've only heard that and Sanctus Diavolos so far. I really like their lead guitarist's style but I'm not sure about the vocals.

A Dead Poem and maybe Pasage To Arcturus, I don't value the rest as much, although I haven't heard that new one. I have trouble with the silly vocals now.

Thy Mighty Contract and Khronos = badass. Triarchy of the Lost Lovers was interesting.

I've yet to hear the new one; is Theogonia worth getting?

Most definitely, all their albums are. It shows their ability to recognize and improve with every album. An evolution that has been achieved by RC.

Anyone who wants a good slice of this band get the packaged together reissues of Passage to Arcturo and Non Serviam. Both great albums and fine examples of black-thrash.

Theogonia is good for what it is, but i dont get why some reviewers say RC have "gone back to their black metal roots". There really isnt much bm in Theogonia.

I like the old stuff a lot. I haven't really followed them in recent times. I'm a big fan of the old Greek BM sound. Necromantia, Zemial and Varathron are killer bands.

I heard most of their stuff and they're ok but A dead poem really stands out imo. I'd even go as far to say it's legendary.

Does it really matter what reviewers are calling it? It's basically Dark Metal. I think Theogonia is their maturest album to date. A Dead Poem is a fabulous album too. I still play it every now and then.

Yeah Necromantia is fuckin' deadly. Two, nine string bass guitars create a very morbid atmosphere.

The vocals are slightly different on older albums.

They're kinda like other black metal, but boring.

Fun, fun.

Saw them live a couple of months ago. They opened with a really cool epic-type song of about 7 minutes. Other than that I thought they were shite. Every song had about a billion keybaord layers apparently being played by a ghost (with a ghostly keyboard).

I have only heard Sanctus Diavolos and Theogonia (and a song called eye for an eye which is now one of my favorite songs!). But I really like them if i ever have the change to go see them, I will.

I like all their albums, except for Sanctus Diavolos. Their best for me are probably Triarchy Of The Lost Lovers, A Dead Poem, Sleep Of The Angels, Khronos and Theogonia. Theogonia is a very good return to form after SA, one of my favourite albums this year.

I don't understand why some people insist on classifying them as black metal, their black period was short and not very impressive, if we're comparing it with the likes of Burzum or Mayhem. For many years now they've simply been a very cool blackened gothic metal band, with a unique and original sound, and very good albums. Which is more than enough for me.

Why don't you like Sanctus Diavolos? It's a great work of Dark Art, like everything they have released from Triarchy Of The Lost Lovers...but for the most fuckin' part I am in total agreement with you.

I don't know... for me that album is very uninspired and boring. Nothing really grabs my atention, except for the title song. It's similar to Moonspell's Memorial for me: aggression without any purpose, and lacking those interesting dark melodies bands like RC and Moonspell are famous for.
