Dear Misha,

I don't want to be an ass and this is nothing personal, but in my opinion Metal Reviews is meant for reviews of metal albums.
This album is described by you as "world fusion".
I haven't heard this album (maybe I will some day), but I'm sure it has hardly any metal influences on it.

I understand your motives, but in my opinion this review (don't kill me please), does not belong on this site.

after twelve or after... twelve? am i missing something?

i'm admittedly not a fan of this kind of music, but i am a fan of your "to the point" reviewing. nice work Misha.

@ Azrael: Thanks! The repetition was because there are two twelves in a regular day. You can listen to this record on a sunny day or a rainy night, the effect remains, the record is of a quality that is highly enjoyable when you do not pay any attention to it as well as when you listen very closely to each note. That's what I meant.

@ Doctor: if this was my site, I wouldn't allow some tard to post reviews completely unrelated reviews (as my reviews are rarely related to metal). But it's not my site, the owners accept my reviews, and I'm willing to upload them to any site that accepts them. I write these things anyways, so if you have a problem with these reviews being on this site, I suggest you address Mike, Alex or Chris, but not me, because I agree with you wholeheartly.

The interesting part about this is more people on the forums post comments on Misha's reviews (because they've actually heard the music and know the band/group/artist/performer) than they do on the actual Metal reviews (which usually means they have no opinion because they haven't heard the music or the band). Meh, makes you think. I guess if there's a demand for it the reviews from these obscure musical stlyes will continue to be posted.

I think it's much more sexual than that.

yeah, take the fact that 95% of metalheads are closet homosexuals and it's not hard to draw conclusions

to quote a comedian whose name escapes me at the moment, 34.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Oh no, he's right about them all being gay.

I'll check this out, Misha.

Not had much of a chance to listen to this, but I like what I've heard so far. Will probably say something more insightful once I've heard it all the way through.

good album.. however, i've listened to it a 3-5 times now.. and i still think it tends to get a bit monotomious, especielly the percussion.

but i'm still going to buy it some day, if not for the music then for the artwork :P

Long time no see, everyone.

I'll take this artist into account and spend some time searching for his works, thanks for the recommendation.

By the way, seeing as how many people here like "special" music, I'd like to recommend some stuff myself (*looks at the warning from Misha above, thinks that maybe this isn't the best thread to do such a thing*): Ryoji Ikeda and all his projects (which includes the audiovisualization project with Carsten Nicolai named Cyclo) [many good samples]; William Basinski, one of the minimalist ambient forefathers [poor sample]; electronic experementators Autechre [short samples, but better than the poor ones - click on the image displaying headphones] and The Hafler Trio [poor sample] and their collaborations; storyteller Jóhann Jóhannsson [neat video clips, but the first one has a defect]; and many more (I'm tired of doing the sample search): Lieutenant Caramel, Vromb, Tor Lundvall, Geir Jenssen (and his Biosphere), Jacob Kirkegaard, Telepherique, Six Dead Bulgars, Jazzkammer (aka Jazkamer)...

And I recommend listening to full albums instead of samples, of course. To get the right picture.

Great album and a nice review. It's really hard for me to hold this way above his previous work though. Nafas and Bukra are battling it out for my cd player in my car right now. If you like this, than you'll definitely like his music from the 80's, the only big differences between the two decades would be the amount of fusion going on. I haven't listened to anything post Blue Camel because I'm too busy catching up with all of his previous work but I'm sure he gets more elaborate.
