Seeing that I've been listening to the BM "veterans" (Emperor Burzum, Darkthrone etc.) for nigh on a year now, I'd like to check out some more underground acts that you don't hear about. It would be great if you could provide some links to smaples where possible.

I'm checking out the Leviathan now, this is some good stuff! Reminds me of Xasthur with plenty of changes to keep things interesting.

Not I, but I do recall you saying this before when someone starts a "recommend me BM" topic.

HAY THIS IS WHERE I GET TO NAMEDROP DEATHSPELL OMEGA LOL

Too bad they don't have anything from SMRC or Kénôse, but they have a couple older songs there which are more in the style of Darkthrone, but still excellent. :dio:

i recently have been listening to Reverence alot. Its very interesting band. They have very long songs that don't slip into repetition. They are sort of ambient but stil have some rather intense riffs. Their album industrial mental concept is pretty incredible.

Any one else heard of them that could describe it better than me?

I pretty much suck with blasting bm

Mintrude, Leviathan do indeed rule. While Xasthur are good, Leviathan blows Malefic's work out of the water.

Leviathan's Tentacles of Whorror is especially good. He also did a split with Xasthur I believe, and one with Sapthuran which is quite nice.

Edit: Yeeha, listening to the song from the EP The Blind Wound on his myspace right now, and it's damn fine.
Edit 2: OMG I'm SO BLIND! All songs on the Sapthuran split is also on The Blind Wound. Someone shoot me.
Anyway, great stuf.

Make sure you get Howl Mockery at the Cross as well, is excellant.

Some other stuff:

Beherit - Drawing down the Moon
Graveland - Carpethian Wolves
Thors Hammer - Fate worse then death.
Grand Belials Key - Judeobeast Assination

If you are freaked about by racist idiots and buying their music though maybe skip the last 3, but they are excellant underground BM.

The split with Sapthuran is only worth it for Leviathan's contribution, as is the case too often with Leviathan/whatever splits.

Be sure to check out Lurker of Chalice. Done by Wrest, the nut behind Leviathan.

I don't know about the last two, but I've read almost all the Graveland lyrics and couldn't really find anything explicitly NS until later on. Does anyone now how GBK's singer died?
