Which do you prefer to listen to music on? For me it's speakers by quite a bit, just because it sounds so much more real having the music wash over your body rather than just being plugged directly into your brain. I probably listen to it more on headphones though just because its more convenient since you can walk around and it doesn't annoy people around you and such

Really depends.

I prefer speakers but most of the time people don't like what I'm listening to so I'm not going to bug them by forcing them to listen to it.

I do love speakers, but most of the time when im listening to music im in my room, with thin walls and people on either side whom i dont want to annoy, or im walking around uni or in the library. So headphones are much more convenient.

I used to be an all-headphones guy, but I got some really nice iPod speakers so now I'd say I prefer my speakers. However, my nice headphones that I had don't really work anymore so it's kind of an irrelevant point. I still have my nice in-ear ones, but I lost one of the earpieces so one ear doesn't fit right anymore :/

...needless to say, I like my speakers. At first with speakers, I felt like I couldn't really listen to a CD unless I listened to it on headphones, but I've grown used to speakers.

Yeah I used to be all about headphones until about 3-4 months ago when I actually got around to buying a good speaker system.

While im at home I love my speakers. I never use headphones at home. I do however enjoy going for walks specifically to just listen to some music on my discman (yeah thats right bitches, still havent moved to mp3) through headphones Ive heard sounds in the backround of some songs Ive never heard before.

I listen with headphones a lot, but i like speakers more, definately. Problem is my speaker system is a bit weird, i sometimes get a really uncomfortable feeling in my ears if i've listened to load music with them, and it can even develop into a headache. My only guess is that the speakers and amp are too big for my tiny appartment.

I only really listen on heaphones unless I'm using the computer. My listening to music on headphones tends to bug people on the bus, so I'm (obviously) not going to use speakers

I prefer using speakers, but I like headphones because of it's versatility. It's not bulky, light, and you can carry around anywhere. But sometimes headphones give me earaches and it gets quite annoying. Speaker all the way. Fuck the neighbours.

Defitnley speakers, I just hate it when you have to wear a headphone for a long time.

Speakers. I wear glasses, and it hurts to have my ears pressed against them for long periods of time. Sometimes I wish I could use portable speakers when I'm walking around, though; if I'm in a good mood and there's no one around, I'll start singing or headbanging a little, and it's kind of awkward if someone suddenly comes up from behind me. With speakers, they could at least see why I'm acting like a crazy person.

I might be one of the few here who still prefers to listen to music on old-fashioned stereo equipment through a nice set of speakers. No subwoofer, no suround sound, etc.

If I must listen to music through my computer, and I have been doing much more of that lately than I used to, I use headphones One of these days, I might connect my pc to my stereo, but that's not very practical at the moment.

If I am listening to music on the go, which is almost never, I still have a discman and headphones. I prefer the earbud style, but I wore my last set out and haven't' replaced them yet, so I'm currently stuck with a set of conventional ones.

Unless I'm walking around or in the subway or its late at night and i want to listen to music, I always use speakers. Headphones eventually start hurting my ears, and besides, you can't headbang with headphones in your ears. Good speakers let the music out all around you.

I like headphones. They're more personal. And I get to hear the music better.

The thing is, though, the headphones have to be good or I might as well not use them at all. I'm kind of an audiophile. I threw away those crappy earbuds you get with the iPod because they sounded so terrible and I just got an old pair of headphones that were lying around. I could probably get better headphones, but I can live with the ones I'm using now.

Speakers for me. But, yeah sometimes when I do want to listen to stuff and there are people who develop piles when they listen to someone listening to metal/rock, I prefer headphones. But, if I had to choose between the two, I would choose speakers. Speakers just have a more overwhelming impact on me than headphones. Moreover, with speakers, I can turn up the music real loud and feel the whole place vibrating . I love that feeling. It's like I am in another world.

I use both but prefer without a doubt Speakers. They sound is simply much better no matter what especially the bass, Although headphones are better to figure lyrics out.

Speakers at home, headphones on the go. Its that simple. I probbaly notice more about the music when I'm sitting on the bus tuned into nothing but sound.

thats how I am. Its just a wall of plain speakers. I like being able to hear where the music is coming from and it not follow me, it messes with my head.

You've probably been mistaking the bus's engine sound for metal.

If you guys are down in Malaysia, do take a ride on our first class busses. Shabby, stinky, noisy and the driver's are ALL from hell. You need to yell to the person next to you just to overcome the engine's roar.
