Wow! "Orion" has one of the baddest metal riffs and leads of all time! It's an outstanding instrumental. And while can see why some people wouldn't care much for "The Thing That Should Not Be," I can't fathom how fans of old school metal couldn't absolutely love "Leper Messiah," "Disposable Heroes" and "Damage Inc." I just can't.

To each his own, I guess.

I think Leper Messiah is definitely among the stand out tracks of the album. As for Disposable Heroes, it's awesome musicmanship. But I can't stand the chorus -,"BACK TO THE FRONT Waah waah waah, I want my Mommy, BACK TO THE FRONT, Waah waah waah, I want my Daddy......" Awful ! Battery SLAYS Damage Inc. Yep. As you said, to each his own

Funny, it's the lyrics I love about Disposable Heroes, especially the "Back to the front" part. It just sounds so ruthless. And Orion is possibly the greatest metal instrumental I've ever heard (admittedly Ktulu is just as good). But I would agree about Damage Inc, it pales a bit in comparison with Battery. Still awesome though!

If it would have been RTL against RIP I would have voted for RTL but as it is, I prefer RIP over MOP.

I vote Puppets.

I enjoy MoP. Every song on here is unique.

Battery- The intensity and the solo gives me a metal high.

Master of Puppets- Do I really have to explain this song.

The Thing That Should Not Be- So nobody likes this song... this is probably the most unique song in "old" Metallica catalogue. The best part are athe lyrics. They re just plain evil. James really sounds evil singing them. When I'm listening to this song, I imagine that I'm in the middle an ocean sorrounded by sea monsters, darkness, and death. I feel like I'm being hunted by a mutant shark monster everytime James says "Hunter of the shadows is rising".. If you read any H.P, Lovercraft books, which this song is based on, you would know exactly what this song is about. The solo is one of the best solo I've heard. The riffs may be a little too repeatitious, but it works for me.

Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Another good old madness song. Beautiful riffs and I love singing the chorus.

Disposable Heroes - The lyrics here again are the standouts. The chorus crushes my face. BACK TO THE FRONT! A great war anthem or anti-war anthem depending on how you look at it. This has my most favorite solo of MOP on here.

Leper Messiah- The song structure is unique and the solo is my second favorie from this album.

Orion- i have no words to describe it. It's too awesome for me!

Damage Inc. - I love this song. In your face. I love in when James whispers Damage Incorporated at the end of the chorus.

I have never heard RIP. So I can't compare. I have yet to start buying and collecting Megadeth albums.

Clearly, RIP is better, although whether it's the better THRASH album, is up in the air. I've gotten back into the 'tallica recently, and it's amazing how good it sounds.

Rust in peace by a mile, but I AM a Deth fanboy.

I just don't care for Master that much, even when I first heard the album it just kind of bored me. I missed the spirit of Kill Em All. I agree that it's a classic and highly influential album, it just doesn't do anything for me personally. Leper Messiah is a kick ass tune though, and all of Tallica's instrumentals are great. That Bass solo in Orion still sends chills down my spine to this day.

But RiP is an all-around amazing album. Holy Wars, Take no Prisoners, Poison was the Cure, Lucretia, hell, I love every song on that album. The riffs are still some of the best I've ever heard in Metal, Mustaine has such a distinct sound. Tornado of Souls is probably my favorite song, the lyrics and solos in that song are mindblowing. I listen to RiP at least once a month, sometimes once a week. I'd have sex with that album if I could.

ERADICATION OF....EARTH'S POPULATION LOVES! POLARIS!

I've always loved Megadeth even though they're run by an obnoxious whiny snotrag. Rust In Peace is indeed one of my favorite thrash albums, and one of the few metal albums I still listen to with anything approaching regularity.

Puppets is... eh. I mean, I always turn it up whenever the title track comes on the radio, but that doesn't mean I really care to listen to it that often by choice.

You should totally submit this review to Metal Archives.

Surely the exact opposite way around? The thing that most thrasher have against Puppets is the lack of, well, Thrash? Rust in Peace has like 6000 more riffs.

By the way oh hay Zad. :)
