The Used - In Love and Death (nice but not as enjoyable as their 1rst album...)

up next
The Blood Brothers "Crimes"

The Used: I totally agree, their debut was something amazing and this one is OK, but not even close to the first one. By the way, I love how Bert sings, he puts a lot of passion into his vocals.

The BBs: Is it me or Crimes is WAAAAAY more commercial??? Still good though. My favorite by them (and one of my top non Metal albums) is Burn Piano Island, Burn, that album was so fuckin' crazy!! I love it!. Oh and going back to Crimes, at first I though WTF did the vocalist do because his voice became a lot more high pitched (almost like a chipmunk) but now I like it too.

yeah, agreed on BB... Burn Piano Island is definitively their best effort to date... this new album is okay but some of the madness of BPIB is gone and I miss it.... still way better than 90% of the so-called hardcore production though (too many macho acts for an un-macho music ! ).

btw, they kinda remind me (in their crazier moments) of Refused's Shape of Punk to Come... obviously, not up to that great swedish band...

EDIT
NP
Reflux - The Illusion of Democracy (best metalcore album I heard this year though released in 2004)

AFI - Sing the Sorrow

This album is probably one of the finest moments Punk has ever had. It's like Punk's A Night at the Opera; inteligent and complex songwriting (for Punk of course), varied, they seem to have left Punk behind and evolved to a higher level, and all of the music seems to complement each other throughout the album. This album is a Punk materpiece. By the way, I can't stand 95% of the Punk shite out there....

I listen to some punk like The Exploited ,Artless, Hass, Daily terror, Combat 84 (which is more like Oi)... But i think AFI is a pretty good band havent checked out the entire album Sing The Sorrow though.
