I'm having a lot of fun! Civil war has broken out in the city I live in (Copenhagen, Denmark). Fires are burning in the streets, the air is thick with tear gas and police and rioters are kicking the crap out of each other. I'm going to the streets to open up a can of whop-ass. I have yet to decide which side I am on. The rioters include the local grind-scene, but the police have way cooler uniforms... Hmm.. Time will tell.

Honestly????

Seriously?????

i put one more question mark, mine is more impactful

I was watching Euronews just now but i only caught the very end of the report, it showed some people, you know, rioting and it said "Denmark" in the bottom of the screen, but i only caught it after they were done reporting.

also searching for news on it online only resulted in stuff about the Muhammad cartoon riots..

EDIT - http://www.euronews.net/index.php?page= ... 9285&lng=1
Quote:
Troubles on the streets of Copenhagen extended into the hours of darkness, after Danish authorites had moved to evict a group of left-wing squatters from a youth centre earlier in the day. Police say at least 100 people were arrested when the clashes turned violent. Protestors took to the streets in the evening after a call on the youth centre's web-site for further action following the eviction.

Officers in riot gear chased demonstrators, who tore up cobble-stones to use as weapons. Protestors hurled bottles and bricks at police lines, and witnesses reported seeing smoke-bombs or fireworks being thrown. Police believe the evening demonstration attracted about thirteen hundred people who'd turned out to support the evicted squatters.

The conflict over the youth centre has been simmering for about 7 years, when the building was sold by the local council to a religious group. The squatters had used it as a base since 1982.

The current owners have now exercised a court order to reclaim the building, which has been the subject of several clashes since the eviction moves began.

Haha.. It's relatively quiet around here now, but the riots will probably start again and go on through the weekend (or maybe longer). The article that azrael posted makes it seem less dramatic than it was. Check it out:

Amazing! When I was in Norway last August I never in a thousand million years thought anyone there would be capable of rioting (or church burning). Norwegians must get restless and violent after a dark winter.

the other day my stepmum wanted me to give 1€ every month to the temple. today she was nagging me about it and i kept saying that i didn't want to pay, and she kept asking why, and i said "BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD" and, well, now she knows.

then she proceeded to tell me that the money isn't for a temple for for an institution in india.

i really fucked up this time..

not sure, ithink it's one of them education/food/health ones. she says it's not religious.

dunno, recently i've become a bit doubtful about charity. even established ones sometimes give away the impression they use the money to refurnish their offices instead of, you know, helping people, and the smaller ones sometimes give this "fake" vibe, you know?

Yeah, I know what you mean, I try to check out the institutes that I donate to (yes, I donate, lolz) and make a decision based on what I see and hear.

Personally I'm going for education.

the future historian in me just had one of the biggest wet dreams ever: we found 2 giant boxes with books on the attic, which my grandfather bought somewhat 60 years ago. All of them are older than 120 years! It's great to read about for example the Roman Empire, 'Jewish Tales', the Flemish Primitives, the Frenh Revolution and the Dark Ages, in books that people read over a century ago.

oh and ancient books are totally metal  :dio:
