So here's something slightly different: a female-fronted prog/power metal band—from Los Angeles! I heard about this band a good while ago and the clips sounded really good. I picked the CD up for $9.99 the other day and haven't stopped playing it since.

Musically they're very progressive and even thrashy, but there's also some more traditional power metal moments. There are some parts that will come off like typical female-fronted goth metal, mainly the quieter passages, but overall this band stands well away from that genre. Very dynamic, very cool. Vocally, Francine Boucher (who looks like a porn star) sounds like a mix between Sabine Dünser from Elis and Liv Kristine from Leaves' Eyes/Theatre Of Tragedy.

Sounds pretty cool, there aren't many bands with a female voice that catches my attention. It just seems that something is missing. I would wish there would be a bit of keyboards involved, if not for solos or leads then at least in the background creating atmosphere.

It's weird because I felt the same way when I had heard the clips online. But now that I own the CD I don't feel that way. Everything clicked. Maybe it's that it sounds much better on CD than on MySpace? I don't know. All I know is that the CD is excellent.

Eyesore, your description of Francine couldn't be more dead on. I was listening to this the other day in the car ( after it had arrived in the mail from LALA.com) and my daughter says, "Dad she sounds like LIv Kristine alot".

BTW..Francine is definitely one of, if not, the most attractive female singer today. Saying she is hot is a vast understatement.

I underestimated this cd. I gave it the chance it deserved. I've been listening to it consistently since last Thursday. It has gotten better with every listen.

Francine needs to address her "dance moves" in the video. That will be my only complaint. They're a wee bit ..uhh...over exaggerated. Other than that.....they rock, she sounds gorgeous, and well..we've already covered her "hotness"

Females seem to have issues with looking stupid in videos when they don't have mics. I don't get it. It's like they try to pole-dance, or look all sensual, but they can't because the rhythm of the song is too fast. So they just look dumb...and white. Haha.

Get it in my local indy store and I will. I know, I am bizarre but it is just the way it goes. Besides, someone has to give business to local record stores and it is old school and Kvlt to buy that way.

Anyways, it is on NB so should be able to grab it here or in Asia.

I don't know though, after listining to these 3 incrediable songs and her fucking awesome voice I might have to break down and order this. This is really, really good. It reminds me of the first time I heard In Velvet Darkness or some shit.

I totally dig Rain Fell Within. In fact, not too long ago I scored Believe and Refuge for $1.75 each through lala.com. I'd had the downloads for ages. Great band.

Oh yeah, those clips on MySpace sound far worse than they do on CD. The mix sounds much better on the actual album.

I would say that Floor looked a bit....awkward....yep. that's the descriptive I'm running with.

She gets a free pass for being awesome, though.
