I notice a difference between the guitars, a lot of the time it sounds normal or better but in a few spots on Synchestra it's kind of annoying.

Mikael & the rest of the Opeth "krew" are all good musicians, sure as shit, but they can't write a good cohesive song to save their life, really.

Devin, while being a good (and much more creative) musician, manages to be great in terms of songwriting too.

I find it impossible to believe people actually think any of the songs on Deliverance are amazing.

As for the poll, I refuse to vote. I love Opeth, but I haven't listened enough to either of Devin's band to be able to compare the two, nevermind that their music is pretty uncomparable because of their difference.

By the way, I disagree that Synchestra and Terria have the same "tone." I find Terria to be a lot more organic and fluid, while Synchestra has the same sort of wall of sound, million things happening at the same time production that SYL has.
