Divine Intervention is probably my third or second favorite Slayer album. The mix is quite poor, but the songs are still really aggressive, and I think Bostaph was a really good choice for the skin-beating on that album.

I know I sound like I'm slating Divine Intervention, but in some ways it wasn't the fourth in the trilogy [sic] for me! I do like it, it's just the bass drums that wind me up everytime I hear it . I kinda wish that they just tightened them up just a bit more instead of them giving me a vision of someone rapidly twating pillows hard (I know, it's me, but I hate having images like that when it comes to Slayer  ).

But as a whole it is a natural progression for Slayer with new drummer in tow (and not too far from the Lombardo days as not to alienate long term fans unlike the next few releases would prove). Also, with everyone at the time grunge crazy, it suffers and is overlooked as a good Slayer disc, when, quite rightly as you say, there's some cracking aggressive stuff on that album.

Windir - Sognametal : DVD
Peste Noir - La Sanie des siècles - Panégyrique de la dégénerescence : cd - highly recommended.. only flaw is that several of the tracks contains more than one song

and then i'm waiting for three LP to come. One of them is a pre-order of Agalloch latest album :P

Dragonlord - Rapture

I was gonna get the new Therion for $23.99 and when the guy rang it in he said $37 dollars! So turns out someone put the price backwards and it was meant to be $32.99, ridiculous!

Anyways, I had my eye on Dragonlord for awhile now, I wanted Black Wings of Destiny though and it was gone, so I hope I like this one.

Apparently Furze is German for fart. :)

I quite like it. Strange (intentional) necro production, decent riffs, drums kind just going off in the background, but not allowed any real power via actually being loud in the mix.

I've got Grom, which I really like except for the horrible clean vocals. Will get round to purchasing Sventevith when I'm through with all the albums above.

It might be the untr00 side of me, but I think the bad production of that album makes it unlistenable.
