Press release - 10/11-2006

Due to personal and professional reasons occurred over the past couple of months we have decided to part ways with vocalist Lance King.

We would like to thanks Lance for the time he was a part of the band, and his great performance on our 2 albums as well as on our gigs. We wish him the best of luck for the future.

This split might come as a shock to our fans, but be assured that Pyramaze is very much alive and well. In fact the song writing for our third album has already begun, and as always Michael Kammeyer is responsible for the songwriting. As you may remember, the music was all recorded for the first disc, before Lance was brought in to deliver his vocals, so nothing will really change in the band except who is going to be behind the microphone. Pyramaze will stay Pyramaze, and the third album will slay you all!

Pyramaze is currently communicating with a vocalist who is very interested in being a part of the Pyramaze line up, and should this work out you are all in for a HUGE surprise!

We all view this as a possibility for an even better future for the band, rather than a step down. We realize that Lance will be a hard man to replace, but we're very confident in our music and our team-spirit.

Let's finally state that we're not happy with the way this parting-of-ways was communicated out. When we informed Lance that we had to let him go he asked for us to not send out any statement until he had a chance to comment on it. So we were waiting for his reply when he himself made a public statement. This is not the way to do it, and it really saddens us to have to go out at this stage with our own press release.

Nevertheless, we are ready to face the future and we're very much looking forward to what's in store for Pyramaze.

On behalf of the band,
Michael Kammeyer / PYRAMAZE and Claus Jensen / Intromental Management

I'm shocked! I really love both of their albums and mostly because of Lance's godly vocals.

I agree that Lance King's vocals were indeed very special and amazing on both albums. But I'm very confident and possitive about Pyramaze's future. Many groups have changed/booted famous singers in the past with amazing follow-up albums for both the band and the singer; Black Sabbath & Angra just jump to mind but there are more. I think as long as there's chemistry between the songwriter and the singer, it can work alright.

I wonder what they mean by "huge surprise" though. Is it someone well-known that we can't imagine or are they going for a completely different vocal style ?

Well, it seems the time is near to announce the new singer, we've speculated on the Pyramaze forums who it could be. The suggestions have ranged from Urban Breed to Matthew Barlow :). I'm just counting on the band to choose a singer that fits the Pyramaze sound.

Daniel Heiman perhaps? I could see him auditioning, especially with the lack of interest in his last 2 post Lozt Horizon releases. That certainly would be a HUGE surprise, as the article mentions.

Oh man, that would be out of this world. Although, I think Marty said in some Crystal Eyes review that Heiman was going to quit singing, was that just speculation or did it come from some interview?

The hell? He's hard at work with his new band Heed.

Shame since Lance King is da man. I hope they get someone who has the same style.
I am a bit anxious since the singer is such a huge component when it comes to the kinf of power metal Pyramaze plays.

Daniel's my favourite vocalist but I would prefer he stays in Heed that band could be huge if they can break into the market as I think their style would have a wider appeal than Pyramaze whom I still like just my thoughts.
