I know I've posted about this band before, but I've yet to dedicate an entire thread to them! =)
I first heard these guys via the $2 used bin. I found My Darkness there and thought it was an awesome gothic metal album with some death influences! Then a while later I found the follow-up, 4:17am, in the $2 section as well! Again, a killer album. Before The Dawn quickly became one of my favorite goth-metal bands! When they recently released The Ghost, their third album, I wasn't waiting to find it for $2.
Before The Dawn is Tuomas Saukkonen. He is the band. While recording The Ghost he found himself with a lot of material so he took the material more closely resembling previous Before The Dawn albums for The Ghost; he took the more mellow material and created a new project called Dawn Of Solace, which is essentially just a slower, more mellow version of Before The Dawn (hence the name). Tuomas released a companion album under this project called The Darkness, which is great. They're two of the best releases of 2006.
