No Vai? that sucks, IMO the best G3 was the first one, the one with Malmsteen was very good also, im not sure about Petrucci (hes vey boring IMO) but Paul Gilbert should kick ass.

The one with Malmsteen was awesome indeed, but i'm pretty sure this will kill too. Not a big fan of Petrucci, but Gilbert is godlike to me.

Seems kinda weird that Vai is not on the tour. Wasn't the concept of G3 supposed to be Satch and Vai with a third guy?

Thats what i thought, but it seems that is Satch project only.

Petrucci seems to be the bore spot. I don't really enjoy his works but I think he's a good guitarist. Gilbert is just gonna pwn! everyone, including Satriani. He might just steal the show, just like how Malmsteen did.
