I was listening to these a few days ago thinking about how this may very well be my nomination for best tech-death album of 07'.Granted,I have yet to hear the full album, and Behemoth and Nile have yet to release their cd's,but Cryptic Implosion is just so awesome! The production literally towers over their previous release, and the songs are much better imho.Willowtip has another hit on their hands to be sure.

Maybe I still don't appreciate tech-death all that much, but it didn't sound that special to me. Good, but not the best.

Yeah definetely. And you should also check out the new Ulcerate, it's very good.

Thanks for the link Xinen!

i'm not a fan of technical death metal, but these guys have me beat. the music and production is clear and it doesn't sound disjointed at all, sometimes (to me ears) technivcal death metal just sounds like one big unmemorable mess. i have to check out this band.

Keep in mind that their first release is just standard brutal death metal (done well) but nothing really memorable.
This one is definetely a huge step forward.

Indeed. If the whole album is as good it is going to be hard for other death metal releases to top it.

Man I wish I could finally hear the whole new Ulcerate album!I pre-ordered a special bundle deal and the new Visceral Bleeding directly from the label months ago and it still hasen't arrived!I'll get around to contacting them but in the meantime I'll just grumble,moan,piss......still,they(Ulcerate) sounded great from what few songs I heard. And their funny guys which is always entertaining.

And glad I could help Azrael.Your definitely right about the production. The mix of brutality and the cleaner side of tech-death merge quite nicely on this album.Like, some bands aren't heavy enough for me,some are too muddy etc.But these guys seem to have nailed it.The second Willowtip posts the t-shirt/cd bundle I'll order it guaranteed!
