Now my expectations are getting real high proportions :dio: :dio: :dio:

Gears Of War is an OK track. This will be good, not great, I think.

Yeah Gears of War is too average. Anticipation has gone down slightly...

Meh. I don't like how he seems to say that he wants to forget about the records released since Rust In Peace. If he really thought those albums were subpar, why did he release them in the first place? It's not like anybody forced him to write albums less metal, it was self-chosen, and I feel he wouldn't regret them if they had meant greater success.

As for the new album, I think it will be neat. The System Has Failed had some good tunes and some less good ones. Now if Dave have decided to only record good songs, this one could be great. I doubt I'll be disappointed either way, an average album for Megadeth is still a quite good one IMO.

But don't you remember? It was all a conspiracy of Marty Friedmann's and the record company to make him produce non metal! That interview I have of him saying that Risk is their best album yet and if fans don't like it they can fuck off is clearly the result of blackmail!

Ya, not too excited about this. The System Has Failed was pretty bad, and everytime I hear a band talking about "back to the roots" at this point, my bullshit detector goes off. This will probably be average.

Peoples's opinions on music does change, the musicians themselves are no different.

I don't care about that. I do care that he makes it seem like he never liked 90s 'Deth and that the whole thing was some giant conspiracy to which he was a helpless victim.

Sounds a fucksight better than Gears of War - that solo tradeoff is pretty tasty. Dave doesn't sound too enthusiastic, but I'm assuming the studio version will be a lot better.

Indeedy, a half-arsed vocal performance, but the song sounds cool. Better than Gears of War. Hope they make the solo trades go on for longer though :D

Am I the only one who likes Gears of War? I think it's pretty damn good, not their best by far(obviously), but still enjoyable. I can't wait for this thing to come out, I have real high hopes.

I disagree. So far everything points to a great album :dio:

Yeah, I liked this song a lot too. But we've already been through these songs and vids couple of months back on a previous topic... :lame:

I'm quite sure this was like it will be on the album.

Do you have a link to that interview? If it's available on the net that is.. sounds hilarious.

I like Gears Of War, not a spectacular track, but it's promising. It seemed kinda dull to me at first but I think it's a grower.

I've got the one where he says Risk is the best album yet; it is quite funny. Its in one of my many guitar worlds (unfortunately, I just threw many of them out) but if I find it, I'll scan it up.

A friend of mine text messaged me saying there's a new Megadeth song that is a 'Wasted Years' rip off. And he says the new Megadeth sucks. Well I'm not believing him wholely because I haven't heard any of their new stuff. I'm just hoping it's good. And if there really is a 'Wasted Years' sounding song, I'll take it as a tribute to Maiden, not a rip off.
