The Jon Oliva's Pain CD pisses me off! The booklet lists the tin case edition bonus track, "Only You," and the digipack bonus track, "Reality's Fool," and even has the lyrics. The back insert doesn't show the songs, but I was hoping for two hidden tracks. Sadly, there are no hidden tracks! What the fuck did they put the lyrics in the booklet for? So they didn't have to print up separate booklets for each edition? That's pretty frickin' lame, and it annoyed the shit out of me.

Yeah, that'd piss me off.. I still have yet to purchase any of the 42 editions of this album. Im waiting to see if an edition with both bonus comes out. I really just want all the songs and Im not buying two copies. I did cave awhile ago though and checked out all the songs, its absolutely amazing, which just pisses me off even more because I want the damn thing!

Yeah, I hear ya. It would have been cool if they'd put those songs on the EP that came before the album.

Got these through lala.com. They're an underground US prog-metal band, and they're excellent. They just toured with Zero Hour.

Odin's Court - Driven By Fate
Odin's Court - Redriven By Fate

Looked them up on MySpace and they're pretty sweet--which one of those would you recommend?

Hmmm...not sure. I just got Redriven By Fate the other day, I haven't listened to it a whole lot. I guess I would say Driven By Fate since Redriven is some re-recordings and acoustic versions of older songs.

Just bought my first music DVD- Blind Guardian's Imaginations Through the Looking Glass. Hoping I'll enjoy it, though the idea of sitting on a couch watching a live show seems kind of weird to me. But, after seeing BG a few weeks back, they seemed like the best band to buy from.

P.S. Opeth sucks.

P.P.S. Rush and Genesis rule.

Just purchased:

Pyramaze - Legend of the Bonecarver
Winterborn - Cold Reality

I was going to buy Bonecarver when I saw Winterborn's CD. The band was totally new for me, but I decided to give it a shot. I surfed a bit and learned that the band came from Finland and that it had been playing covers for about two years and had now decided to record an album. I was positively surprised, the album had a fresh feeling to it. The vocals are ok, they meshed quite nicely with the music in my opinion. The guitars are solid and the keyboards give a nice atmospheric touch. The overall production is also excellent. The album sounds like simple power metal with some prog touches. Somehow they sound so familiar, but at the same time so different :). Last Train to Hell and The Real Me are just amazing songs! Check this one out if you have the chance!

Masterplan - Aeronautics
Gamma Ray - Majestic

I know I'm late with both of these, but I just never got around to Masterplan before - my loss apparently :P

And Gamma Ray has always been tough for me to risk because while I like Kai as a guitarist, I'm not a fan of his vocals. Still, he's better than the band's first vocalist, and I figured they are a major force in power metal, so I had to give one of their albums a shot eventually.

Majestic is a solid album. I'm not a huge fan of Kai's vocals either; he hits some weird tones when he sings, it's like an underlying sound that his throat makes; it's weird. Good album, though.
