The first five Megadeth and Metallica album—no diggity, no doubt.

There isn't an outright bad album among them, but So Far So Good So What and Metallica aren't even very good, never mind masterpieces.

You can argue So Far So Good, but the black album is a masterpiece. Maybe not to the metal purist, but there isn't a bad song on that album. Not even close.

There's plenty close. It goes from the good to the boring to the annoying. It's not a bad album, just nothing great. The same goes for SFSGSW.

Second on Maiden, Overkill, Kreator and Virgin Steele.

Sodom has 5 masterpieces in a row (Persecution Mania, Agent Orange, Better Off Dead, Taping The Vein, Get What You Deserve),
Masquerade in Blood is an 80 for me but after that, their last four albums could also be consider masterpieces.

The first five Metal Church albums are also masterpieces IMO.

Slayer first 5 albums.

And of course Black Sabbath first 6 albums are in the 90s aswell.

Songs that are bad on the black album:
Sad But True
Don't Tread on Me
The God That Failed

Songs that are close to bad on the black album:
Enter Sandman
Holier than Thou
Don't Tread on Me

Thats 6 our of twelve songs that are either bad or close to bad. It looks like your entire post is false and your credibility damaged.

Hahaha. Yeah, sure, because you've all proven time and time again that your tastes are superior, and your knowledge sound. Pffft!

Hah, that's absolutely laughable!!! I'm not even a fan of 'Tallica, but those songs are freaking classics and kick some major ass!! :dio:
...I don't remember all those other songs, but I think Holier than thou was good too...?

Enter Sandman a classic? Yuck. If I hear that song one more time I'm going to kill the poor bastard with the misfortune to be standing next to me. True classics don't become insanely annoying after repeated listens.

Repeated listens as in normal "repeated listens?" That song was pimped out by radio, MTV, commercials, etc., 9 million times a day. Any song played that much would get annoying.

Stop being so trendy; don't listen to MTV or the radio.

Oh Eyesore, you're so naive. This is the internet. As such, my views are completely superiour to everyone else's, and can't be wrong.

But ya, Enter Sandman isn't that good. Its nowhere near the shitstorm of Sad But True, but its pretty boring, and becomes even more so after you've heard it three times.

As for me personally, I'd say that Evergrey's ride between The Dark Discovery and Recreation Day, their first four albums, is quite amazing. Too bad they've become less interesting since.

Then there's those that a lot of people would disagree on, but I think Iced Earth had a solid run up until Glorius Burden, which is still a quite good album in my opinion.

Anathema's string of studio albums since Eternity has been quite impressive as well.

And eventhough they're only two, I think Dissection's run between Somberlain and Storm Of The Light's Bane is pretty much unbeatable, perhaps not in quantity, but in pure quality. :D

I'd agree on Nevermore too.

I don't do either and haven't done so for years. Enter Sandman still sucks.

Ha ha, enter Sandman and the Black Album as a whole was the album that brought thousands of Ken's and their cock rocking days out of the closet and into being "true" heavy metal fans and signaled the end of Metallica as a serious band. It was also the album that pretty much told me to fuck off and forget metal for awhile and find some other shit to listen too. Thank god for Mayhem, Sweden and Finland though......

Neurosis and Converge both have 4-5 (Petitioning the Empty Sky and times of Grace are slightly below the rest of either bands work, but still amazing)...

Are you nuts? You're older than me; that's the only reason you've been listening to metal for longer.

And, no, I was into metal well before the black album.

If you had paid attention you'll have read that I said I don't take the word "masterpiece" too literally. Douche.

And Brahm, my post was supposed to have a smiley. =)

Octagon is bad dude, real bad and Nordland 1 and 2 aren't much to right home about.....

If you don't mean to call it a Masterpiece (Ken) don't then (Ken) and then you won't have to be trounced (Ken) by my superiority (Ken)

Next you are going to say Kix - Light my fuse is a masterpiece........

Katatonia and Dark Tranquillity come to mind if all metal genres are counted.

Katatonia hasn't produced a bad album since
Brave Murder Day, that makes what? 6 albums?

pretty much the same for Dark tranquillity since Mind's I
up to now total 6 albums.
