Just thought I'd bring this to some people's attention (namely fans of Nightwish who havent seen this). Its a diary entry written by Tuomos about how everything is going, reading it made me excited for the new album, it cant come fast enough.

It's gonna be awesome! I'm so eager to hear who they get to sing. This girl has got some big shoes to fill. I still would drop some spud into my undies if they announced Floor Jansen as the vocalist! That would be so badass!

They should get a dude to sing. That would be awesome. Someone like Tony Kakko or Tobias Sammet.

Um no.....no guys in Nightwish. Marco is fine when they need dude vocals.

They need Pei from Seraphim I am telling you. Ken......go buy Seraphim albums to fill the void in your life till Nightwish has a new one. You won't be dissapointed, trust me.

Tarja was great, but I think it's not that hard to find talented female singers out there who can emulate Tarja.

On the other hand, Lost Horizon's quest for a new vocalist should be REALLY dificult. Now THAT's some tough shoes to fill.

I just bought an EP and single from a band called Tacere. It's awesome. I should hook you up.

Definitely! I´m sure Nightwish will go on and find an excellent vocalist to fill Tarja´s shoes, but Lost Horizon is another story, they will never find someone like him, it will be very difficult for them

No, that's what they need to avoid. Anyone trying to emulate Tarja is going to fail in the end; it won't be natural. They need a strong, powerful vocalist that can do the old songs justice—possibly even make them better—and bring life to the new songs.

That's not going to be easy. Tarja is a few levels beyond the typical female vocalist. You won't find many that can do what she could do.

I agree Seraphim have released some very good material. Japan keeps a cool "artistic" feeling to there music it seems.

This would leave me very disappointed.

I think it'd be sweet to have the chick from Luca Turilli's Dreamquest, I think Mist or Myst they called her. I was blasting that album the other day and crapped myself at least 4 times and had 6 nosebleeds.

Good call. That album was a huge surprise for me. It's excellent.

It'll be interesting to see how they'll do without Tarja. They had some pretty big commercial success over here with Century Child and especially Nemo, and I think they will have a hard time to continue on that road without her.

As for the music itself, hopefully it'll get more interesting. My interest in the band faded away quite abruptly with the release of Century Child. Oceanborn and Wishmaster however are solid.

Actually they need to do what Theatre of Tragedy did and get someone like Nell who sounds nothing like Liv and put a new sound into the band.

Maybe they should get Amy Lee? Then she wouldn't have to make shit albums on her own........:)

Oh man. That would be funny. Then they could write a song called "Call Me When You're not a Drama Queen"

OK, maybe "emulate" was not the propper word to use there. My point is there are some female singers out there who can deliver like Tarja. Lost Horizon, to me, is the band in deep trouble. Replacing Daniel Heinman is impossible.

Fortunatelly, both bands have killer composing skills and even if they don't get great vocalists to replace Tarja and Daniel, they'll still rule.
