I've been having a need for stuff like Bergtatt of late. Any suggestions? (Not Drudkh, I refuse on moral principle. Please don't start a discussion about it, I just want band suggestions.)

if i got 10$ everytime someone requested for that type of music on this board i would be filthy rich by now.. seriously!!!

and you already now most of the stuff we come up, i think. And in many ways they never sound just like Bergtatt, take Drudkh for example, they don't sound alike. Would be easier to request some folk black metal, imo.

But here we go anyway - one more time for prince Charles - just the bands that came to mind:

Agalloch - the mantle etc
Alcest - Le Secret
Alkonost - Alkonost etc
Bergthron - Wotanskult
Klabautamann - Der ort
Woods of Ypres - against the seasons

there u go

I'm drawing a blank other than Satyricon's first album, Dark Medieval Times, which is admittedly faster than Bergtatt.

From what I've heard, Ildjarn (or however you spell it, someone correct me) is like old Ulver.

Nice list Kimmy! Taake (Nattestid) and Forest Of Fog come close too (Nattens Madrigal for Taake). Try Hunengrab Im Herbst by Nagelfar (not Naglfar) as well. Interitus (the German one) have a great Drudkh-ish album called The Journey, yet the band has nothing to do with NS ideology. Forgotten Woods is slightly more doomish, but should do the trick (The Curse Of Mankind). I suppose you're familiar with early In The Woods? Kampfar and Canis Lupus are heavily influenced as well and of course there always is Mystic Forest (get Romances, NOW, lot's of baroque style classical music in it as well). You don't have to worry about NS with any of these bands, the guy behind Mystic Forest doesn't even do corpsepaint. If you want more, just ask.

EDIT: Lycanthrope have some very nice songs as well.

Hehe.

And his songtitles are hilarious:
There is 666 trees in my forest
She waits for me behind a tree
Still good music though:

I would def put Fleurty on here as well Ved Buens Ende. I would add the Arcturus as well Constellation and Aspera only though.

Fleurty is wild.

Some of the individuals in that band were also in Hate Forest, and I find their ideology repugnant.

As I said, please do not turn this into a 15-page discussion. If it starts to look that way, I will not hesistate to take a page from Dead Machine's book and comically edit people's posts.

It is just a joke. But I think he could make a great writer for Rolling Stone with quotes like that.
