And Finally...
Trivium/Bullet For My Valentine/36 Crazyfists and various other Metalcore bandwagoners - Of course it's far too early to tell if the new trend in metal will spawn cancerous candidates like the Nu-metal phase did, but chances are that there will be a few. You could say that there are similarities between the genres, that Killswitch Engage are Korn, Shadows Fall are Deftones. Does that make Trivium = Limp Bizkit and BFMV = Linkin Park? Of course this is a ridiculous statement to make as even the cheesiest of Metalcore pisses all over the most talented of Nu-metal (IN MY OPINION!!)!!! I know plenty of people who slag off the likes of Trivium and this will always be the way of metal and it's mainstream. Who knows, I might do the Matt Heafy Appreciation Society in two years time!
Right now, I reckon Metal is stronger than it's ever been and that's despite the latest Metalcore fashion. Guys are picking up guitars and playing Solos (as they've always done, but fashions and trends eh?), yet it's back in the charts without the pomp of air Metal. I went to a Slayer gig recently with my Dragonforce shirt on and I was amazed how many people were like 'Yeah! Dragonforce!!!' whereas 12 months ago, noone barely acknowledged it. It's all about whatever floats your metal boat, if it's any of the bands I've slagged off (and I apologise if I've offended), or Black/Death/Thrash/Hardcore/Progressive/POP!! Metal, remember that it's your taste = your metal and don't let dickheads like me tell you otherwise or anyone say to you that you're wrong to like what you like.
I've needed to exorcise these demons I've had for a long while and finally have. Hell I feel better all ready!!!
P.s Ken, I know I've pissed you off with this thread many a time, but I want to say that you are one knowledgable and passionate motherfucker and deserve the utmost respect.
