Well here's a big fuck you very much to the SECC for opening the doors a full hour before stated on the bastard ticket. I missed all of Thine Eyes Bleed (boohoo) and walked in when Bodom were starting their second last song. Aaaargh!

Then Lamb of God....sorry, this stuff just isn't for me. Take your Jasta vocals and breakdowns elsewhere, thanks all the same.

In Flames - an absolute disgrace to music, one of the worst bands I've ever seen live. They stuck almost exclusively to the last three albums and even when they played one song each from Jester Race and Colony, Anders gayed it up with his new whiny boy vocals. Terrible, dreadful, woeful beyond words. Plus Stromblad wasn't even onstage with them.

SLAYER - yeah they played a few too many crappy songs and Tom's voice is completely shot, but 'twas still a great show. Only two songs from Reign in Blood (lol guess) but hearing Chemical Warfare, Hell Awaits, South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss, Mr Gein and Die by the Sword can't really be argued with. Lombardo is a monster as well. :)

Sounds like security are twats wherever you go. Smoking ain't banned in Wales yet, but the bitches were constantly going round threatening to kick people out if they didn't put their smokes out-tossers, this is a Metal gig, not fucking Rod Stewart!

Judging from your review, Radagast, I'm glad I was wasted for In Flames and decided to use the majority of their set to sleep and sober up in time for Slayer. You're right about In Flames being a disgrace because all I can remember of them was a fairly sharp start, then Come Clarity getting played and me just chucking my pint at the stage, then going for a kip at the back of the gig.

Shame you missed most of Bodom though, they were my overall highlight. I guess with Cardiff being the first UK gig, Tom hadn't wounded his voice to much so that was double unlucky for you chief.

A friend of mine went to the Cardiff gig and said In Flames were dull as shit and Slayer didn't play for long enough.

More or less spot on. It's been 11 days since the gig and everyone I know who went to it have said about how shit In Flames were. Slayer never play for long enough but I think that works in their favour as the short, sharper and punchier show would have more inpact than a two hour marathon. Besides I don't think anyone could keep the 'pit going for two hours straight at a Slayer gig anyway!

My friend used to quite enjoy In Flames, but he says he found the set dissapointing compared to their support slot for Motorhead.

P.S Good to see another Welsh person on the site.

I used to enjoy In Flames, but they are such a pale shadow of themselves since trying to dumb down their music for sales over integrity. This gig justified that thought tenfold.

P.s are you a fellow Welshman/lady? Good to see you too!
