Yeah really, Master of Puppets was really good when I was getting into Thrash, but the best album ever? Come on. Even when I was getting into thrash I liked RTL or KEA better. But I didnt pick those for my list cause now they bore me. Wher Razor kicks serious ass and is awesome. And Razor in 1997 was waaayyyyy better than metallica...Razor 4 life!!! HAHAHA!!! :dio:

that razor 4 life comment was stupid

thrash metal doesnt have to be clean, technical, and 'progressive' to be good.... all a matter of opinion

when it comes to in your face thrashing massacre, Razor > Metallica any day in the 80s for me. Still i like em all

And you should, Razor is one of the finest acts of a very solid thrash scene, check out Sacrifice too.

@ Lee: early Metallica is great, but cmon man with only 5 choices you obviously have to exclude some albums.

@ Otakon: The Anal Rape Of God is a bootleg that includes the whole INRI album plus the Satanic Lust, The Black Vomit and Christ's Death demos, my internet sucks but let me see what i can do about it.

Yeah I have to exclude stuff that is mostly 3rd rate and just gets mentioned for coolness points.

Good. So we agree that Master of Puppets should not be on our top 5 lists. After all, I'd hate to add a third rate album just so you could consider me cool.

When making my list i wanted to include bands from different nationalities, and when i think of Canadian thrash Razor and Sacrifice are obvious choices, if i wanted to look "Cool" i would have included Soothsayer.

hehe yeah Razor and Sacrifice are names that will first pop up when anyone mentions the word Canadian Thrash, they are anything but obscure or cult. I really like Voivod, will be in my top 5 thrash bands ever.

Piledriver also wins at the Canadian thrash game, if for the title track of their first album alone.

Piledriver is fun stuff.... but i wouldnt rate them too highly above the other Canadian classics. Werent they a manufactured band or something ?

Interesting and very true story is that many old school Canadian metallers acknowledge Infernal Majesty as a poser band.... as they were glam before they rode in the Slayer thrash bandwagon. I dont really know the full story anyway. Still None Shall Defy is among the finer Slayer influenced thrash out there

ah yeah Slaughter were ungodly too .... great band that deserves a reissue

I have never heard that story about Infernal majesty, but None Shall Defy is an excellent album. Their newer stuff is ok, but all this Canadian thrash talk why no Annihilator?

Alice In Hell and Never Never Land, are really good albums, so i agree that Annihilator should be mention as well, but after those two albums there is not much worth mentioning.
