Wrong. I dont like their music. I dont like his voice. And I dont like people making up excuses as to why someone doesnt like a band when some people simply just dont like them.

That about sums it up, yeah. It's not a crime to dislike something.

Miss. When you listen to any other band from the time, from the almighty Pearl Jam to Mudhoney, they're so much better. The only good thing Kurt ever did was get The Melvins attention.

I'm not a fan of Nirvana's, but at least I can admit they had a huge influence on the music world at the start of the 90's. They propelled "Grunge" to commercial success which helped bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Soungarden, Pearl Jam, Silver chair, Alice in Chains and others at a time where the music change was very much needed.

So I'll give Nirvana a "HIT".
Nirvana is a cult classic, bashing them and critisizing them is like doing the same for "The Doors", whom I very much dislike, but can respect what they have done for that genereation. When I get kids, they will probably listen to nirvana like I would presently listen to Led Zepplin.

and whoever said weezer took from nirvana...open your ears, there are no similitudes, and if Weezer ever took after a band it would be more along the lines of The Pixies.

yesterday I saw again in a local tv the video "Smell like ten nirvanas" of Weird Al Yankovic... 10000000000 times better than the original Nirvana song.

Well, that's possible, I guess. Highly unlikely, though.

This is just speculation and opinion.

Miss, by the way.

Oh pray tell why that would be. Oh right, every blowhard music critic calls him the musician of the 90's, so nobody could possibly honestly dislike the band right? Everybody likes shitty guitar playing and nonsensical lyric writing right?

Stop with assuming everybody is just bashing stuff for the sake of bashing. If you want to see people actually do that, go to the Archives forums. Then you will see how way off base you are with this shit. People give perfectly valid reasons for not liking stuff, you just refuse to accept that some bands just don't suit people's tastes or needs, no matter how critically acclaimed it is.

+1. I totally agree with what grandbazaar said. It's also a HIT for me. To be honest, I've never liked Nirvana much, never owned any of their records, hardly played any of their songs on the guitar and worse of all I hated all that nirvana-trend that was so popular with younger youth than me. But still, this was a highly infuencial band. They were original and different in their own way and they started a whole new wave out there, for better or worse. Apparently the world was thirsty for something of the like and that's why they were so successful.

I totally disagree with you, why would you vote Hit if you dont even like them?, praising bands for the sake of open mindness is the same as bashing bands just to be "troo".

Oh and i dont like The Doors either so Miss to them.

Say what you want but because of Nirvana, bands I really dig like soundgarden and smashing pumkins were also able to break through,
and that is just one of the many reasons why Nirvana is a Hit.

But this isnt about Soundgarden or Smashing Pumkins, you like Nirvana? fine so its a Hit then, you dont like them? a miss then, but when someone says "i dont like them but i respect them" i just dont get it, did they found the cure for cancer or something?.

And for all you people who cant stand bad comments about a band, this is a Hit or Miss poll, if you dont like people bashing Nirvana you should have opened a thread called "OMG Nirvana is the awesomeness!!!111".
