I have been on a massive Dream Theater binge lately. This is great news.

Sweet...hope they get a label quickly so the CD comes out sooner .

I hope Mike Portnoy does something with Akerfeldt and Wilson...that would be sweet. I'd like to hear what Mike has to offer in the "heavy" metal drumming field...though Dream Theater is metal.

Cool, this is very promising news!!

By the way, Dream Theater might not be gay but when you read things like the following in that interview, you can't help but think about it a bit:

Mike Portnoy wrote:
So I got together with Neil, I got together with Nick Mason from PINK FLOYD, [and] I'm gonna be doing Lars [Ulrich; METALLICA] and Bill Bruford [YES] next month when I get home from South America.

 The rest is also funny if you keep reading in that frame of mind...

Mike Portnoy wrote:
"It's funny. He's the one guy that's eluded me all of these years. I've met everybody — from Ringo [Starr], all across the board — but Neil was so elusive. All these years, I was thinking he was dodging me. I was starting to to take it personally. But he welcomed me with open arms. He was really, really cool. He's an incredibly cool guy."

 I hope I'm not the only one who finds this funny...

That is very funny, especially "I'm going to be doing Lars" :)

Now the question is:

Is he [Mike Portnoy; DREAM THEATER] gonna do Lars Ulrich and Bill Bruford simultaneously or one at a time ? Being such an accomplished drummer that he is, I'm sure he could easily keep in tempo with both!
