Well, what does everyone think?

It hasn't been reviewed, yet

Triumph or Agony and Heart of the Darklands stand out for me, so far.

ciao

It's been a while but I remember it having 0 memorable riffs and being really boring in general.

I remember it being very boring as well, but I'm still gonna get it.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's boring, it's just kind of soft, not as hard-hitting as previous albums.

I would not automatically call an album boring because the music isn't as heavy, but in Rhapsody's case (sorry, Rhapsody of Fire) , it bothers me because I find alot of their compositions teeter on boring anyway for some reason. That in itself is strange because I like classical music and symphonic metal. I can never pinpoint why they have so few songs that work for me.

Worst Rhapsody album yet. SOEL II sucked but the new one takes the cake. Like everyone pointed out it's boring and the only song that stands out for me is Silent Dream because it's straightforward and simple.

Where's the speed? I can't listen to this kind of Rhapsody at all. It's just plain boring. Mystic Prophecy Of The Demon Knight(crappy song title btw) is pretty good, but the rest is....zzzzzzz......

I'll have to agree with Pyroman here. After 2 spins (I haven't bothered giving it more) I give it 40/100 and I never thought i would have to rate a Rhapsody album that low

I didnt find it boring at all. SOEL II was a terrible album and I think with this one they are back to kicking ass. Not as much ass as their original 4 (5 if you count Rain of a Thousand Flames) albums. Anyways, I had a good time.

I'd probably rate this new one around 80/100 +/- 5 depending on how it stands the test of time.

Rhapsody never really had all THAT much memorable stuff, but the later abums are really baaaad.

however, the local cd store has a huge promo poster up (instead of the usual pop crap) and i expect it will join the stores top 10 along with BG and Maiden. 3 metal cds!!!

Only for kids with ADD.

The problem here is obvious, nothing new. Nothing new. It's not that bad of an album if it stands alone, but as a part of Rhapsodys discography it reeks of recycled material. As with Symphony of Enchanted Lands II and Luca's latest releases, the best parts are the ones without the lead vocals.
I wish that Rhapsody would boot Fabio and make an album more similar to Therion, let the vocals be handled by the choirs and for gods sake, get someone else to write lyrics... and songnames.

BTW, am I the only one who has had this album on MP3 for almost a month already?

So did I, and I would have been pretty pissed if I spent money on this morass of mediocrity. There were quite a bit of recycling and uninspired stuff on SoEL II, but at least it had some killer songs such as Unholy Warcry, Guardiani and The Last Angel's Call. There are zero standout tracks on ToA.
