Is www.mysongbook.com still the best place to get guitar pro tabs?

I do.

Except they're not really songs, they're more like little tidbits of whatever's on my mind at the moment.

As a tip to others, http://www.ultimate-guitar.com is the largest inventory of tabs(guitar, bass, pro, and power), and reliable. It also has reviews, news, a forum, and other things.

Also I've found that, on guitar, a song can sound more dynamic if played a semitone(or two, four, etc.) down; odd tunings and open chords can be useful as well.

I have been learning to play slap bass. I think I am making progress, but does anyone have any tips?

Cool. Is there anywhere online I could learn for free? My friends are not around my area and there's no one to teach me.

Schism (Tool) is pretty hard to get the hang of on the bass, but I think I'm getting better.

Does anybody in here already tried to record a "slow version" of a really dificult solo and then speed up the audio file, just to see how you would sound like if you could actually play the damn thing? :D
