Here's another one! Earth Flight. Killer, killer band. They have a 4-track EP out.

AWAKENING
AIN'T MY DEAL

Note: Copy the second link and add the apostrophe in the work "ain't" in the link, the BB code doesn't like apostrophes and paranthesis in links.

I don't know. The first two pages was me talking to myself! Hahaha. Saviours are really good, but the singer can get on my nerves occasionally. I just got the Burning Saviours sefl-titled and it kicks ass! It's like 70's folk rock with a little Jethro Tull thrown in the mix. Good stuff.

It looks like Priestess are getting Hello Master released in the states on June 13th and they're trying to attract a more metal crowd.

Original artwork. New artwork.

I think it's great it's getting a US release, but the new cover is totally inappropriate. It doesn't fit the music. Either way, this is a killer, killer album! It'll make my top 15 of 2006.

Sorry.

Dixie Witch are a good band. I like them. I also like Five Horse Johnson. Do you like them, Ken?

Dixie Witch are a great band. I love them. I've also not heard Five Horse Johnson. Do you recommend them, Zad? What's their best album? Best song?

Discuss.

Not enough knowledge there to solidify a recommendation, but if you find the samples above massage your ear pleasingly, then by all means investigate further. Interesting that we're the only ones to be exchanging words on the topic, do you think this kind of thing has limited appeality to the wider metalheads, and by that I don't mean the fat ones.

I think the new art work is better, but doesn't really suit the music, maybe your right about the attracting a metal crowd thing.

I think it's a tough style for a lot of people to really open up to. Especially some of the younger fans...

I'm not sure if I would call this band a stoner band, but they have a dark, rock/metal vibe to them, definitely a 70's quality so I guess it fits. I've sent them a message asking about a demo/CD. I just linked to their page from the Priestess page so I know nothing of the band, but this song on their MySpace page is excellent!

They're called Mad Parish: http://www.myspace.com/madparish

This is excellent!!! But not a stoner band. I here more of a NWOBHM feel to the song (musicly, not the vocals) then anything else. lol, they discribe themselves as black metal, wtf???

cheers for posting this ken! keep 'em coming!

Hahaha! I said the same thing at that Hellride Music forum and people flipped out!! NWOBHM bands, obviously, are varied in style, but I chose to say they had a NWOBHM sound, which, of course, simply meant that if you took a NWOBHM compilation album you could throw this band on there and they would fit. Pffft! Whatever, though.

That song on their space is indeed a kick ass tune. I hope they give me a demo when it comes out.

Bump!! :)

I'm not sure if this belongs here or not, but I just bought this band's two EPs after hearing them on The End Records' site. I'm not totally familiar with Mastodon, but I'd say this band is similar (I could be totally wrong, though). Stoner, sludge, doom, rock, it's all here, and it sounds awesome! I hope the EPs are killer, but this is the only song I've heard:

BARONESS - RISE

Thoughts?

I felt the same way about Kalas, it took me a bit to get used to the vocals. The same could be said for Saviours; in fact, I can still get irritated at that vocalist because the music rules! Still, after a few spins this Baroness band hit a chord within me.

I'll let you know how these EPs are. They were cheap, so no big loss if they suck.
