Does anyone else use this site to keep track of their collection?

www.rateyourmusic.com

I find it makes things easier once you start getting a bigger collection. Sometimes I forget I own an album and then I'll see it there and be all like "Whoa man, I own that shit *poops self*"

I'd also be interested to see the collections of some people, assuming anyone uses it.

This is mine: http://rateyourmusic.com/collection/Sidebot/oo/1

PS: No ragging on my bad taste, I randomly rated a bunch of old CDs from back when I was only just learning what metal was or even before that time, and because of the memories, I find it hard to hate some of it, so fuck off in advance, thanks.

And why not just create an excel spreadsheet? I have one if anyone wants it, I'll just send it to ya. What happens when this website goes *POOF*?

Spreadsheets dont have nifty album pictures and awesome little stars for ratings! You can be really st00pid sometimes :P

Actually, like Misha said an HD can go poof too and mine has a few times in the past and Ive lost alot of importent things. But like you said maybe the site would go poof, maybe it would be a good idea to use both the site and a spreadsheet? I dont have spreadsheet though, feel free to send it to me if ya dont mind.

My room is small and I dont have room for a cd rack, so my CDs are in a couple different places and its annoying, plus to skim through over 100 cds, or 1000 (Im working on it) is just plain irritating. Having a list is just more convenient, geeez man, welcome to 2006, nobody wants to get up and do something when there is an easier way without having to leave your chair.

Ok I'll try another way - I know every CD that I own. Not in the sense that I could reel them all off, but if I see a band I'll be like "yeah I own 3 of their albums."

Heh heh, I almost didn't put them there but I figured "What the hell?"...

Some of them are CD's I bought on iTunes, so technically I own them...most are stuff I borrowed from a friend, though.
