Agreed! I can however feel the absence of Snowy Shaw and especially Gus G. The new guys are good but Marcus Black does not have Gus's melodic consistency or powerful guitar tone. I still prefer Dragonslayer!!

Finished the album and I think its brilliant. The drumming is less innovative and the solos less spectacular, but I get the feeling Shaw's absence could benefit the album in the long run. Another album full of songs about being Metal could have killed this band for me. I'm also glad they've upped the tempo again.

Tyr - Ragnarok

New album blows previous one out of the water. Great production, heavier and more consistent songwriting.

Maybe. I'm not really the one to ask since I thought TBOHM was slightly overrated (or at least, not for all moods). My favourite Dream Evil album is Evilized.

No its not better than Book. Every song on Book was great with great chorusses, where there are definately some filler on United. Also Gus G is no longer there.

Been listening to the new Dream Evil, like some others here. Its not as good as Book or DragonSlayer, but its basically tied with Evilized for me. Not saying its bad or Evilized is bad.. Its just that each Dream Evil album is different from the last in some way and each one is almost as equally awesome for all different reasons. But Evilized and so far United would be just a few points below Book and DragonSlayer.

Anyways, as for this new album, despite 2 huge loses the music is still pretty damn good, both the new guitarist and new drummer seem like good/solid replacements and hopefully this current lineup can last for a long time. As long as DE have Niklas on vocals however, I will always come back for more.

So far I would say the most standout tracks are: Fire! Battle! In Metal!, United, and Falling. The rest were great as well, but need to sink in some more.

I like this song very much. The guitar riff is great.

Now playing: Stratovarius - Anthem Of The World
