Ken WTF@ Brian Johnson, Bon Scott and Dave Mustaine.

Are you going to say they're good singers? Sure, they fit the music well, but they're hardly good singers.

Agree with Ken, none of those guy can sing for shit, but they just fit the music and "get" what they are doing.

Udo from Accept is the same fucking way.

You can't be serious about Brian Johnson. He's really good in songs like Shake a Leg, Given The Dog a Bone, Rock n Roll ain't noise pollution, Let's Make It ... He just has a really diferent voice. But he CAN sing.

The others, I would have to agree they are average to bad. I love Megadeth, but Mustaine can't sing. Bad in studio, even worse live.

Chris Barnes is my least favorite singer, not for Cannibal Corpse, dont listen to them, but for Six Feet Under, what a joke.

Other than that, I dunno, singers that sound like the dude from Coheed & Cambria, including the annoying voice of the guy from Coheed & Cambria.

oh yeah and metalNESS, that jerk wishes he could sing.

My least favourite is the guy from Demilich. Close runners up were the vocalists for Vehemence and Deicide (sorry fans). As for powermetal, I have luckily not run into any that I completely hate yet.

Dave Mustaine for sure.

Plus I really really can't stand...hang on...(puts on flame-proof suit)....Hansi Kursch.

Also the guy from Rhapsody sounds exactly like David St Hubbins from Spinal Tap.

Tommy Lee is pretty bad too. :P

Hang on... bad singers or bad growlers? There is a difference, and it's not fair putting Barnes in with the others, say, or thingy from Demilich.

My nom? Whiny from A7X. He wrecks an otherwise ok band.

The gadge from Lacrimosa. It works in an awseome way sometimes, but man he sucks.

The dude Grave Digger really detracts from the music sometimes.

Also, Matthew Gay Heafy (lol a pun).

Anyone who says Mustaine can sing is crazy

Um, i nominate Gerard Way, Matt "I AM HERE TO RIDE BIKE!!!" Heafy, and Robb Flynn

In growlers i nominate Rob Darken and The dude from Chimaira and Jamey Jasta.

Not long, BUT there are plenty of people that would be worse to listen to a capella. Certainly the guys I mentioned above.

Anyhoo, all three are very good at what they are specifically required to do- which is a type of singing- even if they are not technically of a high standard.

Right, they fit well, but then they're just a part of something that essentially carries them. But seriously, let's not get philosophical over this, eh? Haha.

In the case of the AC/DC guys I'm not so sure. Their vocals really defined that bands sound. And an awesome sound it is- they were hardly carried.

In the case of Mustaine, Megadeth sound great when he is singing. Those guys I mentioned above are equally as deficient as individual vocalists, but at the same time fail to fit well with their band. So they suck in two categories as opposed to Mustaine's one :P

James Hetfield

He was digestible until he started to "sing" in a way he did on the Black Album. But generaly he's the kind of singer that doesn't represent much. There are dozens of better vocalists...

Don't be retarded.

And yeah, that dude from Man's Evil is horrible! Hahaha. Thanks for bringing up bad memories!

Some of the worst of all time?

- Brian Johnson
- Joe Cocker
- Bon Scott
- Chris Barnes
- Dave Mustaine

I could name more. Now this isn't to say I dislike all the bands these guys sing for, I do not, but they definitely can't sing.

I'm going to have to disagree with what you said about Chris Barnes. His death vocals are perfect (considering that there's so little you can do with death vocals).

As for Mustaine, at least his vocals are better now than they used to be (dare I say it - Rust in Peace had his worst vocal performance). Plus, they do suit his music surprisingly well.

How can anyone say that there's not great singing in songs like "Shoot To Thrill" or "What do you do for money honey" ????

Yeah, they both had awesome gravelly blues voices.

Conclusion: Ken is wrong

*winks in Ken's direction*

*puts on flamesuit*

Byff Byford from Saxon. He totally ruins that band for me, he sounds like he had a throat transplant with the guy from Molly Hatchet, and I hate Molly Hatchet.
