I nominate A Light in the Dark, this song is awesome! I love the guitar and the solos. Ritchie Blackmore needs to come back more! HAH! But seriously what do you guys feel is their best song, snd possibly best album?

Yeah that is a great song, but I'd have to say Stargazer is my favorite. It's so damn epic that I dont know what to do with myself.

Yeah after I listened to A Light in the Dark Stargazer came on and it is awesome. That whole cd is awesome! But still I stand by A Light in the Dark to be my fav. But I really like the drumming at the beginnig of Stargazer.

Stargazer. I win. Lock thread.

But seriosuly folks, the whole Rising album is just incredible - side B in particular. 16 minutes of sheer epicness that blends into pure fucking speed metal (in 1976!). The solo section in Light in the Black really is something to behold.

Without a doubt Stargazer. This song is so fucking impressive, especiallyu for the time period. Still Im Sad is also pretty incredible.

So pretty much everything with Dio singing on it? Or is there something with him singing that you cant stand?

I like Rainbow's AOR phase with JLT and also Since you've been gone with Bonnent on vocals is one of my fave all time songs. I just didn't want to get annihilated for liking those albums, but yeah, straight between the eyes, bent out of shape, difficult to cure and down to earth are faves of mine too.

I just can't stand Rainbow after Dio left, it all sounded too 80's mainstream. Now I havn't heard a whole lot of the post Dio era, but I do have a Greatest Hits with some songs and they just dont compare. IMO.

Hey just cause I don't like the 80's mainstream sound doesn't mean you can't. Plus some of that era Rainbow had some good songs.

I agree with "Since You've Been Gone. That song is also one of my all-time favorites. I always liked Bonnet and that is his best song IMO.

Sure did, but I was watching the Live Between the eyes VHS last night at my friend's house and ker-rist, some of it is just cringeworthy.

Plus Joe Lynn Turner looks exactly like Nigel Tufnal when he's playing an SG.

Stone Cold and Street of Dreams are a couple of my fave songs as well. No shame in some good AOR every once in awhile.
