Well I use to listen to stuff on radio at first. I did try Metallica at first they didn't interest me at first. What really got me into metal was most probably the 'The Best of Deep Purple' advertisement on tele. I heard the songs and knew I know these songs since I was like 6. My uncles used to play them a lot when I was young.

Then I decided to try Iron Maiden. And I think they are the ones I owe a lot. That's when i started digging metal and experimented more extreme stuff. And thanks to Maiden, I started to appreciate the early Metallica as well.

I only tried Black Metal when I was 17. The first band was Rotting Christ. They were also the first band I heard with coarse vox. Still my favourite black metal band.
