Blank File is amazing! and Last Drop Falls is their best ballad, imo.

Sorry, but that's some fucked up taste right there. the best ballad off Silence is easily The End of This Chapter, and the best overall is too hard to decide.

I think I just must prefer how Toni's voice has matured into his later singing which is deeper and more melodic. For me, a high vocal range in a guy singer means little as I don't really like that. If you want your favourite singers to sing in high pitched voices, just use an equaliser of EAX to turn them into fucking chipmunks.
It's great how so many people like Sonata, even fans of other music types. At work, I've got Indie, Gangsta, Dance, traditional Rock, and pop fans into them.

Oh yeah, and stub - you seem to like Motorhead so check out Shagrath's side project Chrome Division if you haven't already. Only heard their single but it's great metal in that style - booze, broads and balls

To be the odd one out here, Reckoning Night is what made me a fan in the first place, and I like Ecliptica, but I find Silence and Winterheart lack much feeling. Most of those songs just fall flat to me with a few exceptions. I don't know how rushed Reckoning Night was, but I think it turned out really intense and heavier than the previous albums. Plus, the keyboards and vocals have greatly improved. Although there are still a couple of songs that don't do much for me, I think it's their best.

BOO-YA, ph34r the wrath of Beowulf as someone actually agrees with him for once. (except I love all the albums with few misgivings about any of them)

Blank File rules. Ecliptica is one of my favorite Power Metal albums ever... Definately in my Top 3.

The only other one I have is Silence, and if there's one thing that album suffers from, it's really crappy lyrics. It's still a solid Power Metal album, just not up to the awesome par set by Ecliptica.

Of course End of this Chapter is better than Last Drop Falls, but it's not what i'd call a ballad...
