The two songs on this EP are excellent, and the songs on the MySpace page are even better, if you ask me. The new CD is going to be awesome!!

Does anyone else think the main riff in "Time To Die" sounds like the riff in "Contortion" by Fight?

Jon Oliva always delivers, I have never been disappointed by the man, even his joke rap song gets frequent play.

Of the 4 songs Ive heard (they are all good) these would be my scores for em:

Through The Eyes of The King - 9/10
Playing God - 8/10
Time To Die - 8.5/10
The Evil Beside You - 8/10

Re-listening to the songs on their myspace, I just noticed they posted 2 more new songs: Push It To The Limit and Maniacal Renderings. And upon first listen both are incredible. The start of Push It To The Limit sounded like 80s Savatage, This album is gonna seriously F me in the A.

@Eyesore: Never heard that song before, will check it out to see what you mean tommorow.

No need. Compare for yourself:

FIGHT - CONTORTION
JON OLIVA'S PAIN - TIME TO DIE

Fight was badass, by the way.

Dude, that first riff in "Push It To The Limit" is identical to the riff in "Beyond The Doors Of The Dark!" I wonder if that was an ode to the early Savatage? I hope so, or else Oliva needs to reaquaint himself with that song!

Here be the song, If I remember correctly, this song was a bonus on the re-master of The Dungeons Are Calling. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... 7D3263CAA3

And yeah, the main riff in both songs are quite similar. But its not a very complicated riff, so I can see how 2 different bands might come up with it.

:dio: POST NUMBA 1000! :dio:

Aah, that would explain it. Sirens and Dungeons Are Calling are the only two Sava albums I don't own on CD. I still have the tapes!

True. I wasn't complaining or anything, just pointing it out.
