Are you very sure? Even in songs Nargaroth's Seven Tears Are Flowing To The River, there is very much a concept of verso-chorus structure going on. And only in VERY VERY rare cases we're dealing with composition, it's almost always songwriting, based on verse-chorus or not.

In a lot of cases imo its a case of well-disguised structure.

And just to clarify, by composed you mean written down right? Not just made by fucking around with a guitar?

Composition applies to every form of music that is made up, including fucking around with the gutiar until something comes out. However, we're discussing the comparison with classical music here, so I mean the manner in which a classical music is composed, meaning usually one man writes stuff down for every instrument.

So one man bm projects are similar, right?

Yes, although lots aren't really based on classical music. Still, projects like Burzum have something in common with the classical minimalists, although not much.

This thread is starting to give me a headache. I can't really sum up everything being said here, but it seems to me that the bands still listed in the first post has met not criticism and would actually please everyone on the forums.

Now I can understand that since they are splendid, but it also surprise me that an egyptian inspired death metal band like Nile can be appreciated by everyone. If people here still have something to add, change or whatever to the topic, please feel free to do so. I'll try to follow.

There was also some discussion about classical music, and a few legendary composers were mentioned. I have no clue what to make of it. So I'll just ask straight out: Is there someone here who does not like classical music from the famous composers like Mozart, Beethoven and so on?

Behemoth
Bathory
Wyrd
Taake (im sure Taake should have been mentioned but im too lazy to look)

No, but I'm saying that not all classical music can be on the list.
I don't like every band that s still open by the way, so scrape those too.

Let's just scrap this. I'd go with Dark Tranqullity, you'de be nuts not to find them good.
And rio, have you listened to the latest Agalloch album; Ashes against the grain?

Hmm, I only have the Mantle, which sucks. I don't think I've heard anything from the new one... If I did I can't remember it...

Hmmph, a decent track, but I still can't understand what people see in this band and why they have the status they do. The clean vocals really are weak, and the music often seems very one dimensional to me.

The Mantle, Sucks? I'd grab your neck, and choke you with my thumb and index finger.

No, seriously though, 'Rio' you should give it more listens, man; It is not an easy listen and needs a lot of attention if you will.

It sounds like very easy music to me. Something you instantly like or dislike. I like it, but I gotta give em the clean vocals are weak, the grunts aren't a lot better. I think their new album is better though, as it uses less vocals.
