Grandbazzar, have you checked some of the bands I suggested ? I'd like to know if i should bother giving band suggestions if no one even checks the bands. There is a thread such as this one every 2 weeks and it would be good to know that there is some use for them.

I have been checking some of the bands but haven't had time to check all of them but I will certainly get through most. I haven't been home
this past week-end so I haven't had time to check everything out yet.

I really appreciate everyone's responses and sugestions!

BANDS I DEFINATELY LIKE SO FAR:

Wuthering Heights - their recent CD
RAGE
Virgin Steele

NEXT BANDS ON MY LIST TO CHECK OUT:

Lost Horizon
Twilightning

Kiuas is VERY good, love the heavyness and the multiple metal influences. To top it off the singers voice fits the style very well.

I also like Heed.

too bad The End Records has neither of those available for purchase.

EDIT: 1st Kiuas album and Heed's Album

For those who want to know your suggestions resulted me in buying the following albums:

Kiuas - Spirit of Ukko
Kiuas - Reformation
Twilightning - Plague-House Puppet Show ( the guitar work on that album reminds me Scorpion, ex: Into Treason)
Wuthering Heights - Far From The Madding Crowd

so thanks to all for the suggestions!

Finally, somebody who takes our advice. I already know how you feel about WH, but what about the other two bands?

KIUAS is an awesome band that deserves to be known by all. I've only listend to Reformation once so far so I can't tell much yet, but but The Spirit of Ukko Kicks tremendous arse! Love how they incorporate Extreme metal bits like the begining of Warrior Soul frickin awesome intro. Love the singing style: good range, not to high and can be somewhat rough! PERFECT.

as for Twilightning, i'm listening to it right now, love the some-what hard edge guitar playing. The guitar work is super melodic, and they write very catchy guitar lines. I'm seriously thinking of getting their first album if it's anything like this.

I like it better.

As for Kiuas, I need to give them another shot. I heard them a while back and can't remember a thing about them. You and Pyroman seem to praise these guys, so... I'll check them out... again.

I second this... the debut is a bit better IMO.

Surely check out Thunderstone, Dreamtale, Supreme Majesty and Nightscape if you're really liking Twilightning, Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius.
Although there are even more similar bands, these 7 form a nice group. :D

Clint

NP: Nightscape debut
