I'm yet to hear that one. I've heard No Reply and love it. I'll have to keep an eye out for DD.

If you liked No Reply you'll certainly love this one, overall Dismantling Devotion is a much superior album than No Reply.

That's what I've heard. Alex's review has me wanting more.

The Genghis Tron album is growing on me a lot, at first I just dismissed them as boring genre-hopping stuff mixed with grindcore, but now I've noticed that its a lot more intricate than I thought and actually really good.

Hmm... I'm not particularly impressed by the output this year, so far. It's seems metal is getting a little stale... What a pity.. I will however highlight a few albums that is rising above the rest:

Drudkh - Blood in Our Wells
Kayo Dot - Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue
Nortt - Ligfærd
Om - Conference of the Birds

On the non-metal side I'll mention:

Clogs - Lantern
Kátai Tamás - Erika Szobája
Tarantula A.D. - Book of Sand
Tenhi - Maaäet

From the samples I've heard, I'm looking forward to Ocean Cheif - Tor, and I still need to check out the new Forest of Fog.

i have no idea what has been good so far, i tend to forget when album are released:

but atleast:
Drudkh - blood in our wells
Haatstrijd - Cacodaemony

i'm still looking forward to quite a few albums, including the new from Nargaroth, Archgoat, Beneath the Dying Moon, Nyktalgia, Nokturnal Mortum, Satanic Warmaster and i think Abyssic Hate are going to release a new album too.. .and then there's the re-release of Dead to This World's demo from 2005, weee

this year has been a bit disappointing for me compared to the great recent years, but these are my highlights so far:

Bloodbound - Nosferatu - probably my album of the year
Beyond Fear - s/t - Hardly flawless but Ripper can really sing
Animal - Violent New Breed - Sounds like W.A.S.P. but actually better than their last few albums! Big surprise.
Persuader - When Eden Burns - Solid aggressive power metal from my hometown. Rockin'.

Really? For me it's been one of the best in recent memory.

So you're from Umea, eh? Whatever happened to the hardcore band Doughnuts? Ever heard of them? I know they broke up, but I'd hoped those chicks would resurface some day.

This has been a great year except the doom genre. I don't remember any good releases except Nortt - Ligfaerd.

Daylight Dies. Was that this year? I'm still praying the new Solitude Aeturnus shows itself this year! What else? Not much, I know, but you could consider the Witch album a doom album. What do you think?

A little doom, a little stoner. But yeah...tough year for doom. Good doom, anyway.

2006 has been kind of disapointing so far for me, especially since all of the albums I was looking forward to a lot except the new Tool were sub-par. I hope the new Arsis or Zero Hour breaks this trend.

Then again the best album of all time was released in 2005, so 2006 didn't have much hope.
