So what does this mean, that prices are back to what they were before they embraced the metalcore and emo scene?

No, they've only gone downhill in the last year or so. The prices went up and their metal stock went down, replaced by emo, hardcore and metalcore. It's unfortunate really. Some CDs they would have stocked a few years ago, like Bloodbound's album, aren't stocked anymore. That sucks.

I've made a bunch of orders from the end... They're still the cheapest place I can find to get CDs.

I just bought the new Voivod cd and there was a big The End sticker on it, that is the first time I ever heard of them.

Try the used/clearance section at Sentinel Steel and the clearance section at Sensory. You can get some damn good deals there, and there are a ton of CDs there that a well worth the money!

I had a look and couldn't find anything that I'd been really looking for except the avantasia albums. Ken you might know, where could I find Hackled in Gore by Scrambled Defuncts? The only place I can find is their russian website and it doesn't ship out of the country.

Annon Vin - A New Gate - $4
Behind The Curtain - Till Birth Do Is Part for $4
Chinchilla - Madness - $2.50
Dark Moor - From Hell (CD single w/2 Non-LP Tracks) for $2.50
Dark Moor - The Gates Of Oblivion for $5
Domine - Dragonlord - $3
Dreamaker - Human Device for $5
Eidolon - Nightmare World - $3
Fairyland - Of Wars In Osyrhia for $5
Fifth Reason - Within Or Without for $6
Freternia - A Nightmare Story - $5
Highlord - Medusa's Coil - $5
Karma - Inside The Eyes - $4
Lake Of Tears - Forever Autumn - $5
Last Chapter - Paths To Always - $7
Pathos - Katharsis - $6
Prototype - Trinity for $6
Raintime - Tales From Sadness - $5
Reptilian - Demon Wings (EP) - $3
Sinisthra - Last Of The Stories Of Long Lost Glories - $5
Thalion - Another Sun - $5

You can't beat those prices for an online store!

Direct Link To The Clearance Items: SENSORY/LASER CD

Then there's Sentinel Steel (http://www.sentinelsteel.com). Den, who runs it, is a really cool dude and his used and clearance stuff is either $5.88, $7.88 or $9.88 (plus some random cheaper CDs, but they're usually damaged in some way). I've found a ton of great CDs there for $5.88.

How much did they run you?

Those in bold are great (even if Arwen have way too many members in the band).

Haha yeah they have two keyboardists and two vocalists. My band has been searching for a keyboardist for ages, turns out arwen is just hogging them all. I'm pretty excited for the gorguts one too, I hear it's supposed to be the definining techdeath album.

And the total was about 60 bucks.

Gorguts are messed up, I like a lot of tech death but never really got into them... apparently you need to listen to them a lot before you get how awesome it is but I'm just too lazy to do that.

To me, an awesome band doesn't require you to listen to them a lot. An awesome band should hit you immediately. Sure, some albums just don't register properly at first, but that's usually a result of your mood. I've never heard a CD that I just continuously disliked and then one day it clicks. If anything, I try it and don't care for it, then go back to it at a later time and then it usually clicks. Music shouldn't be a chore.

For me I can usually tell if something is interesting, and then I'll keep listening to it, and then maybe a week or two later it will click and I'll fall in love with it... if I dislike something at first that generally won't change, although I didn't like The Mars Volta at first and wouldn't have lsitened to them any more if they werent forced on me and now they're one of my five favourite bands. I guess the lesson I learnt from that is that trying to get into them through Frances the Mute is retarded.

Well, I tried with the album before that because of one killer single. I didn't like the album. Then I tried again with Mute because of that one killer single. I didn't like the album.

They should release singles.

They do, I bought the single for The Widow because it has Frances the Mute's title track on it and I wanted to rip it in 256kbps for my mp3 player because I love that song so much and Cedric Bixler's Ss totally destroy low quality mp3s.

I like supporting The End records because pretty much every band they sign is awesome.
