What is your all-time favorite song all genres included ?

Mine's The Tea Party's Psychopomp
who's lyrics are basically telling the story of orpheus
:"While Eurydice was fleeing from Aristaeus, she was bitten by a serpent which brought her to her death. Distraught, Orpheus played such sad songs and sang so mournfully that all the nymphs and gods wept and gave him advice. Orpheus went down to the lower world and by his music softened the hearts of Hades and Persephone (the only person to ever do so), who agreed to allow Eurydice to return with him to earth. But the condition was attached that he should walk in front of her and not look back until he had reached the upper world. In his anxiety he broke his promise, and Eurydice vanished again from his sight"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orpheus

as for the music it's simply magistral, it is very atmospheric. starting slowly with some background tracks/sampling and some soft/quiet guitar then followed by some simple but very heartfelt piano part that is reapeated throughout the song. The song slowly builds up to a heavier momentum with heavy guitar riffs and awesome vocals(the emotion of his voice is perfect) that are quite memorable.

Burzum - Dunkelheit.

I'd probably say something else if you asked me tomorrow. Like Thy Catafalque - Neath Waters.

The song that randomly comes into my head most would have to be Burzum - Black Spell of Destruction.

A recent favourite is Krieg - An empty room, a forgotten funeral

Very difficult to say, but I would say The End by The Doors.

I think it's Masada String Trio - Meholalot (Composed by John Zorn).

Hahah, dude, it's a composition, how would I have to write it then? "Notes written on a paper by John Zorn and executed by the Masada String Trio"?

GENESIS - FIRTH OF FIFTH (from Selling England by the Pound, 1973)

This song has EVERYTHING...

Strawberry Fields Forever & A Day in The Life (The Beatles!!!) come pretty close.

I'd have to name about 5, can't choose one:

The mars Volta - Frances the Mute (the song, although if the album can be considered one long song then I'd put it there)
The Mars Volta - Tetragrammaton
Zero Hour - Demise and Vestige
Meshuggah - I
Arsis - A Diamond for Disease

Yeah, I have a hard enough time picking out my favorite song for one band.

Very difficult to choose a favorite, but I would have to go with either Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name or Opeth - Black Rose Immortal or Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor or...........oh nevermind, fuck this.

I'll just go with the first thing that comes to mind. Not sure that it's my favourite, but I've just liked it for so long--before metal even.

Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song
