The samples didn't convince me that this is an above average power metal album. There is nothing special or distinctive in the music nor the singer. Judging by the samples alone this is mediocre stuff.

The review is good and informative so congrats for that. :)

80/100 is accurate. It's not a groundbreaking album, but name a band that they sound like! Don't name a band that plays the same style, name a band they sound like. I can think of none. I can think of bands they're similar to, but none that they sound like.

For what it offers within the genre it is damn good, but not amazing.

I pretty much feel the same way as Pyroman. Doesn't sound bad but didn't sound like a must have either.

I have this CD and love it! I find it to be very catchy and I always seem to be humming the songs at work.

I am a little worried about the vocalist change - but I will wait until I hear the new stuff to pass judgement.

No need to worry, Mac is far better than Carsten. He more powerful and has a greater range. The change can only make the band better. Carsten was a little limited in the power and range, though still very good.

Have you heard Threshold?

Actually I don't think I have. I should hunt down some tracks and check them out.

Yeah, it should be great. I think they're working on their next album now, if I'm remembering correctly.
