To anyone who might care:

The album is coming along in great strides. Drums and bass are done and vocals are at about 99.9% done. There are just a few touch ups and lines to throw in once all the music parts are thrown in. Guitars are probably at about 75% done. Gregg and Rich are working hard on finishing up the rest as soon as possible.

The album itself really is starting to sound amazing to me. I can't wait for everyone to hear it and get some response. I enjoy reading everything that gets posted on this forum. There are a lot of insightful posts and I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks of the new stuff. If anyone would like to know more detail on the album name and song titles you can check our blog that can be accessed through our website at www.suspyre.com. I will post up samples when everything is mixed down and can be shared.

Hell yeah, I said it before but if I hadn't bought the album in January it would have been on my top 2005 list. One of the best CDs I've heard in years. I love it.

Can't wait for the new one.

I care.

I absolutely love Serpent I Am, I remember you said the new album will be more on the proggy side, will there be any more songs like Serpent I Am?

I suppose you're talking about more of the electronic kind of sound. There will be a song or two that has electronic parts, but as a whole it's hard to say if any song is going to resemble serpent I am. This album sounds a lot more full to me...bigger and more intense. If you've heard april in the fall it will give you an idea of the sound we're getting on the album. But each song has it's own taste. I'm glad you really like serpent and hope you find a song on the new one that does the same thing for you.

"Serpent I Am" has one badass chorus! Being an old school Def Leppard fan I'm a sucker for those big, catchy as fuck choruses. So, more of those, please.

Now you're just making me laugh at work...which is a hard thing to do. We always try to make the choruses catchy and memorable, but I'll do it extra hard for you. I promise.

Not really, though I like the way that electronic stuff works in that song. I was mainly reffering to the strength and melodicity of that chorus (like Eyesore said, really awesome chorus) in a context of complex song structure, symphonic sounding leads and great vocal harmonies. I think this song manages an almost perfect balance between progressive and catchy, that's why I like it so much.

I also like a lot some of the speedier songs, especially The City Under Sands. That's such a killer tune as well.

Later edit: I went and listened to April in the Fall on myspace. Yeah, this sounds indeed very promising. I especially like the guitar tone on that one. But it sounds more like a demo to me... is it?

the april on myspace is not completely mastered...so yes...I guess it can be considered a demo. Everything sounds really great to me right now and I want to get it done as soon as possible. This album just has more sophistication to it.

Any epic-like songs scheduled for the new album? Like "The Breath Of Gloria" (my second favorite track from the album), but maybe a bit heavier at times and longer?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you...we've been hard at work. There is a short ballad on this album but it's hard to compare most of the new album to the silvery image. The album as a whole is more diverse than the silvery image and much more full sounding. The guitar sound is much more crisp so it sounds heavier to me.

As far as epic songs go...it's two concepts songs put together to make the album so I look at the whole thing as being pretty epic. The last song on the new album called, "Blood and Passion" is most likely the "epic" song on the album but it is not a ballad. It's hard to really express how much I like the new songs. They really put a new taste into the music of suspyre while still hinting at the old style. There will be samples asap on the new website...so keep an eye out for them. www.suspyre.com

Dude, The Silvery Image is a pretty diverse album. That's a bold statement, I do hope you are correct! If you're being a cock-tease I'm gonna be pissed! This album better rule. Hahaha.

Seriously, I can't wait.

The album is completely recorded and being mastered now. I would like to give a early copy to Ken for review, provided he doesn't give it out...haha. That one's up to you Ken but I have to be able to trust you. Email me at clay@suspyre.com with some personal info and I'll see if I can get it to you early.

As far as a release...we are talking with Nightmare records right now and it's almost finalized. It's looking like a very early 2007 release. We are waiting on artwork and the actual master copy now. Once we get those which should be end of october and such, Lance King will most likely start putting together the cd and promotion package to release early 2007. That's not set in stone, but I would say chances are pretty good.

I do have to say that I finally got my own unmastered copy of the cd just this last weekend and there were a lot of things I hadn't heard on it yet...believe it or not. It sounds really great to me. Be prepared for more of a progressive feel rather than full on power metal. There is a lot of classical and jazz references along with the rock your socks metal. My dad was blown away and hopefully everyone else will be as well.

Let me know Ken and I will do everything I can to get you a pre release copy...at least a burned copy so you can review if you wish.
