Not sure about breakdowns but Sodom - Tired and red, and Electrocution have some of my favourites thrash breaks.

I quite like the breakdown in Sentenced - Vengeance Is Mine with the children singing in it.

Napalm Death, Sick Of It All, Corpsing, Lamb Of God all do it very well.

Dying Fetus-Grotesque Impalement and I'm not sure if it's a breakdown but the bit after the solo in Pleasure to Kill by Kreator is awesome, as is the point around 3:30 in Dead Embryonic Cells by The Seps.

Tool's breakdown in Jambi is pretty cool. Too bad it turns into a kinda lame guitar solo. :(. Gojira have some damn heavy death metal breakdowns too.

I forget what band it was, but at SotU on wednesday there was this band that had like 3 or 4 breakdowns a song. It was pathetic. As far good ones go Lamb of God has some pretty awesome ones.

Not exclusively for breakdowns either. I must admit that the breakdown in Crown Of Horns made me headbang like a total fool.
