After more listens to Blackwater park I just can't get into it...I really tried to like it but dammit, when the song goes heavy the guitars are under distorted with random growling and too few riffs, the clean bits seem very random and occasionally the vocals border on whiny. It just doesn't bring out any emotion for me, the whole thing seems to be bordering on random so that they could have long songs. On Ghost Reveries 'Ghost of Perdition' and the third track 'Beneath the Mire' I think it's called were great tracks, especially the aforementioned...But the rest of the album gave me the feeling BW does. Take The Leper Affinity for example, I actually quite enjoy the beginning of the song, but the clean bits don't seem to have any real emotion and the piano bit is shite, I mean c'mon guys, you fuckin' ruined that track. Plus, at the end of Bleak where the guitar is just random cracking and fuzzing? I'm really dissapointed.

Check out Still Life, theres still a bit of the stuff you're complaining about but less of it.

Yeah, that's the one I've been thinking about trying after all the hype I've heard.
